    Abstract: A broadcast signal transmission method comprises outputting an RoHC channel that includes one or more RoHC streams and a signaling table that includes information related to header compression by performing header compression for Internet Protocol (IP) packets, which include broadcast data, in accordance with an adaptation mode, a header of each IP packet including an IP header and a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) header, generating at least one first link layer packet that includes the RoHC channel and generating at least one second link layer packet that includes the signaling table, and physical layer processing the at least one first link layer packet and the at least one second link layer packet and transmitting through one or more Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs), wherein the signaling table includes adaptation mode information indicating the adaptation mode, and each RoHC stream in the RoHC channel includes RoHC packets.

    Abstract: A broadcast signal transmission method includes encoding service data of a service and service layer signaling information that are delivered over a Real-Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) session, wherein the service layer signaling information includes Layered Coding Transport (LCT) channel information and Media Presentation Description (MPD) information for the service; encoding signaling information for one or more services including the service, wherein the signaling information includes one or more service element entries corresponding to the one or more services, wherein a service element entry corresponding to the service includes service information related to the service, and wherein the service information includes service identification information for identifying the service, first version information for indicating a change of the service information, channel information of the service and address information of the ROUTE session; and transmitting the encoded service data, the encoded service layer signaling information and the encoded signaling information.

    Abstract: A digital broadcast receiver for processing a broadcast signal, includes a tuner configured to receive the broadcast signal including Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs), wherein the PLPs carry link layer packets; and a controller coupled to the tuner, wherein the controller is configured to decode a specific PLP, acquire signaling information for header compression, wherein the signaling information for header compression includes a PLP identifier for the signaling information for header compression, profile information for representing a range of multiple protocols used to compress at least one stream, and a maximum value of a context identifier, decode another PLP to receive the at least one compressed stream based on the signaling information for header compression, and decompress the at least one compressed stream.

    Abstract: A broadcast receiver for receiving a broadcast signal includes a receiver for receiving the broadcast signal including Physical Layer Pipe(PLP)s, wherein the PLPs carry link layer packets and wherein the link layer packets include one or more Internet protocol (IP) packets, a packet decoder for decoding the link layer packets from the PLPs, wherein the link layer packets include a compression information table related to a header-compressed stream of a first group of IP packets among the IP packets, and wherein the compression information table includes a PLP identifier identifying a PLP among the PLPs, a maximum value of an context identifier of the header-compressed stream, and a context profile being a range of protocols used for the header-compressed stream, a signaling decoder for decoding the compression information table in the decoded link layer packets, and a decompressor for decompressing the header-compressed stream to output the first group of IP packets.
