摘要： In the present invention, a lubricant supplying device includes a lubricant end determining unit that determines that a solid lubricant is in an end state when the amount of a lubricant supplying operation reaches a threshold after a residual amount detecting unit detects that the residual amount of the solid lubricant is equal to or smaller than a predetermined amount. The lubricant end determining unit makes a threshold of the amount of the lubricant supplying operation at temperature or humidity of equal to or lower than a predetermined value lower than a threshold of the amount of the lubricant supplying operation at temperature or humidity of higher than the predetermined value.

摘要： A lubricant supplying device includes: lubricant; a supplying member that supplies the lubricant to a lubricant supply target; and a remaining amount detecting unit that detects that a remaining amount of the lubricant is equal to or smaller than a certain amount. The remaining amount detecting unit includes a first electrode member and a second electrode member. The lubricant supplying device further comprises a member that causes at least a part of the second electrode member to move and causes the second electrode member to abut the first electrode member with an increase in consumption of the lubricant.

摘要： A cleaning device includes a cleaning blade configured to clean a surface of a rotating subject, a solid lubricant configured to reduce the friction coefficient of the surface of the subject, and a lubricant coating device that includes a coating roller to shave the solid lubricant during normal rotation and a reverse rotation to coat the surface of the subject with the lubricant. The amount of lubricant supplied to the subject during normal rotation of the coating roller is different from a supply amount of the lubricant during reverse rotation of the coating roller, with more lubricant supplied during reverse rotation than during normal rotation.

摘要： A developing apparatus prevents or reduces splashing of toner and carrier caused by abnormal outward airflows generated at downstream positions of a developing unit casing thereof through interactions between behaviors of magnetic brushes and local portions of the developing unit casing. The developing apparatus includes a developer carrying member, a first permanent magnet, a developing unit casing, a second permanent magnet, which is built in the developer carrying member at a fixed position at the downstream side from the first permanent magnet with respect to the rotational direction of the developer carrying member. The developing unit casing has a concave structure to form a low pressure area at a position facing the second permanent magnet. The low pressure area suppresses an increase in the speed of the airflow therein that causes the abnormal outward airflows.

摘要： A developing device of the present invention includes a conveying member for conveying a developer that is a toner and carrier mixture. A sensor senses the toner content of the developer in terms of the permeability of the developer. A preventing member prevents the bulk density of the developer from varying when fresh toner is not replenished.
