摘要： An integral strip and fastener installation system is provided for light weight slate and tile roofing systems installed with a single overlap between each row or course of tile. A specialized fastener hook is formed with one or more lateral projections or wings installed underneath one or more slate tiles to anchor the fastener to the roof at least in part by the weight of the overlying tiles. This anchoring supports and reinforces the open mouth of the hook against deflection from high winds and thereby enables the hook to hold a tile securely under high wind loads.

摘要： A roofing system includes battens and hangers for installing slate roofing shingles on a roof. Electrical conductors and other electronics are incorporated into the battens and the battens are connected together to form an electrical transmission grid beneath the shingles. Solar panels are installed in place of slate shingles in some locations on the roof and are configured to match or complement the surrounding slate shingles. Each solar panel includes a connector that connects the solar panel to the electrical transmission grid. The grid thus collects the electrical energy generated by all of the solar panels and delivers it for storage or use in a home. Microinverters may be coupled to smaller groups of the solar panels for converting their DC voltage to AC voltage and the outputs of the microinverters connected to a remote location for use or storage.

摘要： A roof having slate attached by battens and hangers. The hangers have a short member and a tong member. The tong member has a hook on one end and the remaining end is adjacent to a first outward extending arm. The first outward extending arm is adjacent to a central connecting member. The central connecting member is adjacent a second outward extending arm. The second outward extending arm is adjacent to the short member. The first and second outward extending arms are removeably secured to the battens. The slate roof is installed by positioning and attaching the battens to a roof deck. The hangers are then secured to the battens by squeezing the short member and long member together and inserting the first and second outward extending arms into the adjacent hanger holders on the batten.

摘要： A board fastener/ventilator device has a top bracket and a bottom bracket that are secured to a sheathing surface and that mount a board, such as a shingle or siding board, at a distance above the sheathing. A board fastener/ventilator device secures one end of the board and another board fastener/ventilator device supports the opposite end of the board so as to maintain an air space between the board and the sheathing layer. The separation between the sheathing layer and the board is maintained by an angled riser that has vents to allow air to pass through the angled riser between the different layers of boards that are mounted on a roof or wall, so as to minimize the accumulation of moisture on the sheathing or board in order to minimize deterioration of those surfaces.

The folded-over edges form channels on opposite facing sides of the plate which receive folded-over edges of other plates to. connect the plates together in a structure of interconnected plates. The plates may be rectangular, square, trapezoidal or triangle shaped.

摘要： An apparatus for installing siding on a wall by a single person is disclosed. The apparatus includes a siding hook and a gauge for positioning a length of siding at a predetermined degree of overlap over an installed length of siding. The gauge comprises an elongate slide bar and a stop block slidably mounted on the slide bar. The stop block is clamped to the slide bar by screws which thread into holes formed in the stop block. The heads of the screws are entrapped within the stepped slot of the slide bar. Both the slide bar and the stop block have flat surfaces devoid of projections which could mar siding, and rounded or beveled edges and corners. The siding hook is S-shaped, formed from thin sheet metal or plastic, and configured to overhang the installed siding while supporting a length of siding being installed over installed siding.
