The projectile passageway opens through a mouth, eye, nose/nostril, or ear structure. Additional apertures selected from these structures, other than the one selected for the projectile exit, may be in fluid communication with the projectile passageway for directing exiting gasses in desired directions, for example, for a muzzle brake. The additional apertures preferably extend generally upward at an angle to said projectile passageway, including straight upward, upward and forward, or upward and rearward, and may also extend to a left or right side. Upper and lower jaws of the creature may be shaped or sized to direct gasses and hence light/flash in desired directions, for example, for flash suppression.

    摘要: A matched muzzle brake and weight system mountable on a firearm barrel is disclosed. In certain embodiments, the muzzle brake and weight are configured to have the same predetermined weight and center of gravity so that the point of aim of the firearm remains substantially unchanged when a user deploys either the muzzle brake or weight. The system permits convenient interchangeability between the muzzle brake and weight without the need for re-sighting the firearm thereby maintaining accuracy. In some embodiments, the centers of gravity of the muzzle brake and weight are located at the same position with respect to a common reference point defined by the barrel. A method for using the system is also disclosed.

    摘要: A firearm system includes lubrication notches are incised into portions of the frame and slide along the region of interaction between these two components. The notches act as reservoirs of lubrication and upon each cycling movement of the slide (firing of the weapon) one or more of the notches is placed opposite a corresponding portion of the slide or frame. The notches themselves are never exposed to the environment and thus retain the lubricant, unlike topically applied material. As a result, the frame and slide are lubricated during each cycle of the slide.

    摘要: A flash redirecting recoil compensator for a firearm includes a compensator body that provides a platform for the rest of the components. The compensator body attaches with a firearm in order to reduce recoil force and redirect the muzzle flash away from the site of the shooter. An attachment chamber and a discharge chamber of the compensator body are positioned through a top portion of the compensator body from a rear face to a front face. The attachment chamber fastens the compensator body into the firearm while the discharge chamber provides space for the discharging bullet. At least two vectoring ports, which are traversed through the compensator body and into the discharge chamber, redirect hot gas and unspent propellants away from the firearm after the bullet is discharged as the redirection of the hot gas and unspent propellants reduce the recoil force and provide a clear shooting sight.
