Abstract: A method of manufacturing alloy rim for automobile is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of forming elongated extruded alloy straps with a cross-section shape from alloy by an extruding process; cutting the extruded alloy into the required length; placing the cut alloy obtained in (b) onto a mold to form into an arch-shaped edge; cutting the two ends of the edges of the extruded alloy to form into an inclined angle end; placing the extruded alloy of (d) into a device to form the alloy into a round rim; welding the ends of the two joining ends; performing a surface hardening process; furnishing the rim that obtained in (g) with CNC lathe machine.

Abstract: A method of making a rim of sheet metal for a vehicle wheel, in which: a rectangular geometric shape is cut out of a blank of sheet metal; the blank is bent to obtain a cylindrical hoop; the two free edges of the hoop are welded together; at least one cylindrical flow spinning operation is performed to obtain a profile of given thickness of the hoop, zones of constant thickness being adjacent to zones of variable thickness; a cut is made perpendicular to the axis of the hoop out of at least one lateral edge of the hoop; the hoop is profiled to obtain the rim; and the size of the said rim is set.

Abstract: There is provided a cast tire for use with a furnace roller. The cast tire has at least three of annular spaced pockets located around the central opening of the tire on each radial side. When the tires are installed on a furnace roller with arbor means, pockets are inserted into the annular spaced pockets. The pockets are secured only to the arbor means of the roller. Rotation of the arbor means results in rotation of the cast tires by transmission of torque from the pockets to the to the tire without direct attachment of the tire to the arbor means.

Abstract: A vehicle wheel with a roll-formed rim has an interior rim section and axially spaced first and second beadseat sections. A disc is attached at its skirt flange to the first beadseat section. The first beadseat section has radially outward and radially inward surfaces, both angled radially outward from the wheel axis for example at a fifteen degree angle. A roll-formed groove is formed in the radially inward surface of the first beadseat section, the groove having an inwardly facing cylindrical first surface. The skirt flange has an outwardly facing cylindrical first surface, which engages and is press-fit with the groove cylindrical first surface. The skirt flange and rim are then welded. The groove has a second frusto-conical surface adjacent the groove cylindrical surface. The skirt flange may have a second frusto-conical surface to mate with the groove second frusto-conical surface. The skirt flange may have a third frusto-conical surface to mate with the radially inward surface of the first beadseat section.

Abstract: An improved method is disclosed for producing a wheel rim for use in a vehicle wheel. The method includes the steps of: (a) providing a flat sheet of material; (b) forming the flat sheet into a hoop having a first predetermined axial length; (c) expanding the hoop to a predetermined inner hoop diameter; (d) flow spinning the hoop to produce a wheel rim preform having a second predetermined axial length greater than the first predetermined axial length, the wheel rim preform including opposed axial ends and a thinned axially extending intermediate portion located between the axial ends; (e) subsequent to step (d), flaring at least one axial end of the wheel rim preform; and (f) subsequent to step (e), subjecting the wheel rim preform to a series of roll forming operations to produce a finished wheel rim having at least one tire bead seat retaining flange, at least one tire bead seat surface, and a generally axially extending well.
