Abstract: The present invention provides a base trailer to which various types of cargo support platforms may be attached. The base trailer includes a rear axle with wheels rotatably supported on its opposing ends, and a main beam (or neep) extending forwardly from the center of the axle and including a conventional tow hitch attached to its forward end. A traditional suspension system, such as leaf springs or a torsional system, may be incorporated into the axle and wheel structure. A pair of mounting brackets are attached to the axle, adjacent each of the wheels, and a mounting hole is formed through the main beam, at an intermediate point therealong.

Abstract: A detachable mud flap assembly securable to a trailer hitch assembly. The hitch and receiver each define a transverse bore. Mud flap mounting arms have tubular inner ends which are joined by a connector. Removably pins adjacent the receiver extend though holes in registry in the arm and connector to secure the assembly. In an alternate embodiment, extension mud flap arms may be secured to the ends of the mounting bars.

Abstract: An integral locking coupler comprising a locking mechanism mechanically coupled to a set of engagement pins for securing a coupler to a receiver. The locking mechanism translates movement to the engagement pins to move them to and from an extended position and a retracted position. When in the extended position, the engagement pins engage the receiver thereby securing the coupler. When in the retracted position, the engagement pins are generally contained within the coupler housing allowing the coupler to be inserted into and removed from the receiver.

Abstract: A trailer tongue assembly has a base section which is engagable with a trailer and an extension section which supports a coupler. The trailer tongue assembly also has an internal hinge positioned between the extension section and the base section. The internal hinge rotationally connects the base section and the extension section and selectively provides the trailer tongue assembly with an extended operational position and a folded storage position. The internal hinge is housed in the trailer tongue assembly and is essentially shielded from view by the trailer tongue assembly when the trailer tongue assembly is in the extended operational position. The trailer tongue assembly also has a greater length in the extended operational position than in the folded storage position.

Abstract: A lightweight multipurpose trailer which separates into two parts includes a base chassis and cargo deck. The base chassis provides the hitch beam, axles, suspension, and wheels, but the chassis alone does not have the necessary structure or strength to carry a load without the addition of the cargo deck. The attached cargo deck provides the required strength and rigidity through its connections directly to the axle and the hitch beam.
