Abstract: A winch rigging link has a body defining a cable retainer and a soft shackle retainer at opposite ends. The body has a length, a width less than the length, and a depth less than the width. Furthermore, the body defines opposing faces bounded by the length and width and spaced apart by the depth. The soft shackle retainer comprises a channel running widthwise across the soft shackle retainer an in between the faces. The channel defines a bearing surface having curvature in a lengthwise and widthwise plane. The cable retainer may be permanently attached to a winch cable and the soft shackle retainer attached to a soft shackle or the like when required for winch rigging. The configuration of the link maximises the bend radius of the soft shackle or the like retained by the soft shackle retainer, despite the relatively narrow profile of the body thereof.

Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a hitch system that couples a vehicle to an implement powered by the vehicle using a driveshaft supplying power from a power output to the implement. The hitch system comprises a front portion and rear portion, with a mid-yaw pivot coupling the front and rear portions. The front portion couples to a drawbar engaged with the vehicle, and the rear portion couples with the implement. The mid-yaw pivot can be disposed substantially equidistant from a power output of the vehicle and a power input to the implement. This arrangement can provide, during operation, for the angle between the power output and driveshaft to be substantially equal to the angle between the power input and driveshaft. This may provide for improved performance in the implement, including reduced vibration, lower weight, and less maintenance.

Abstract: The present invention relates in general to a fifth wheel hitch and method of using a fifth wheel hitch that is mounted to a bed of a towing vehicle, and more specifically, to a fifth wheel hitch that is vertically secured to a kingpin of a fifth wheel trailer without requiring the use of adapters or extensions. One aspect of the fifth wheel hitch and method of use includes a hitch head assembly that is adjustable in height such that the fifth wheel hitch is compatible with different sizes of towing vehicles and fifth wheel trailers. The hitch head assembly also incorporates a funnel shaped design for receiving the kingpin of the fifth wheel trailer in a vertical fashion to prevent the kingpin from sliding horizontally out of the hitch head after being pulled forward by the towing vehicle. A four-way pivot joint accommodates instantaneous variations in pitch and/or roll attitudes between the towing vehicle and the fifth wheel trailer connected by the fifth wheel hitch. The hitch head assembly further includes a latching and locking mechanism that indicates whether or not a secure connection has been properly executed between the fifth wheel hitch and fifth wheel trailer to assure an operator that the towing vehicle is ready for travel.

Abstract: A tow ball adaptor for coupling an implement hitch to a tow ball includes a plate. A first hole in the plate is complementary to and configured to insert a tow ball that is coupled to a vehicle. A coupler is coupled to the plate and configured to couple to the tow ball to retain the tow ball in the first hole. A cutout that extends into the plate is substantially complementary to and configured to insert an implement hitch. A plurality of third holes in the plate extends linearly between the first hole and the cutout. The third holes are complementary to and positioned to selectively align with a pair of orifices that is positioned singly in an upper and a lower tongue of the implement hitch. A hitch pin is inserted through the orifices and the third hole to couple the implement hitch to the plate.

Abstract: The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to a safety chain tool for use with gooseneck trailers. Various embodiments of the tool allow the user to remotely affix the safety chains of a gooseneck trailer, and are configured so as to be left in the bed of the truck during transport so as to allow for easy removal of the chains. In certain implementations, the tool comprises an elongate shaft with a handle at one end and a coupling mechanism at the other, wherein the coupling mechanism is fixedly attached to a chain and a clasp. In certain embodiments, the shaft contains a operational mechanism configured to actuate the clasp. In certain embodiments, this actuation is achieved by extending the ends of the shaft relative to one another.

Abstract: The apparatuses and methods disclosed herein may be towed forwards and backwards by a motor vehicle. Thus, implementations of the transport device disclosed herein may have functions akin to a goose-neck trailer, yet may provide easier, more efficient and/or more cost effective transportation and loading functions over prior art trailer transportation systems. Furthermore, in some implementations, the transport device disclosed herein includes at least three, non-aligned wheels and therefore can function like a cart. Still further, in some implementations, the transport device disclosed herein can have the functions of a wagon, yet still back and maneuver like a trailer. In some implementations, the transport device includes a frame for positioning hay for feeding live stock.

Abstract: An improved drop hitch apparatus has at least one hitch plate for coupling to a portion of a hitch assembly of a trailer, a support assembly for supporting the hitch assemblies of a trailer and a towing vehicle, and a mounting assembly for mounting the apparatus to at least a portion of a hitch assembly of a towing vehicle.
