Abstract: A coupling system that uses a standard receiver box found on most new vehicles to attach a coupler with a universal joint allows full movement between the vehicle and the trailer, including vertical, lateral and rotational motion. The device also incorporated lubrication fittings so that it can be lubricated in the field. The rear of the universal joint has a spindle that extends rearward. The spindle fits through a sleeve that is used to attach the unit to the trailer. The spindle is rotatable secured in the sleeve with a nut and a pin, to provide the 360 degrees of rotation. A limiter plate can be installed to limit the rotation of the trailer in use. The sleeve has two flat side plates that are bolted to the trailer tongue. The unit provides a strong, compact functional hitch system.

Abstract: A dump trailer coupling apparatus is described. The apparatus is joins a vehicle hitch to the push tongue of a trailer in a way that accounts for and permits all movements of the dump trailer when on a roadway and during the dump process, without translating that stress to the hitch. In one embodiment, the apparatus is a swivel coupler including a pair of swivel structures. The first swivel structure enables lateral movement of the trailer with respect to the vehicle. The second swivel structure enables complete dumping of the trailer without stress on the hitch. In another embodiment, the apparatus is a hinged coupler including a support plate, a ball mount and a ball coupler. The ball coupler retains a roller that moves along on the support plate and addresses lateral movement of the dump trailer. The ball coupler includes a hinge connector attached to the trailer push tongue and enables complete dumping of the trailer without stress on the hitch.

Abstract: A storable self-aligning towing assembly which allows universal pivoting about three axes between a towing vehicle and a towed vehicle. The towing assembly is self-supporting. The configuration allows the towing assembly to pivot from a towing position to a storage position on the rear of the towing vehicle. A latching mechanism secures the self-aligning towing assembly in the storage position on the rear of the towing vehicle. The self-aligning towing assembly may be further converted into a shipping position.

Abstract: An improved, integrated three-point hitch arrangement is disclosed which includes a mounting arrangement for conveniently effecting a fixed connection to a tractor or the like. The hitch includes a pair of upper and lower arms pivotally connected to a mounting plate, with a pair of adjustable-length link members respectively interconnecting the upper and lower arms. Connector means are provided which permit limited relative pivotal movement of each link member with respect to the respective one of the upper arms about first and second perpendicular axes, with the connector means as permitting limited relative vertical movement of the link members to accommodate "floating" of the hitch-mounted implement. The integrated nature of the present hitch permits it to be very easily mounted on an associated tractor, with the mounting arrangement preferably configured to accommodate mounting on different tractor models.
