    摘要: A power turbine employs a plurality of turbine blades each having a normal lip mounted at the free ends thereof. The plurality of turbine blades are mounted in a paddle wheel type configuration about the turbine power shaft. The paddle wheel blade configuration is interposed between the pressurized fluid inlet and outlet ports for efficient response to the pressurized fluid moving therebetween. Directional fans mounted about the rotating shaft maintain the fluid flow through the turbine so as to assure an optimum power as offered by the rotating turbine shaft. A home power generation system utilizing the turbine is also disclosed herein.

    摘要: A flow stabilizer is presented which equalizes the flow of fluid through the passageways of the channel diffuser used with a centrifugal type rotary compressor. Slots are formed in the sidewalls of the flow separating vanes in the diffuser. The slots open into cavities within the vanes. The multiplicity of cavities communicate by means of openings through the diffuser wall into a common closed manifold. The fluid interconnection between the multiplicity of passageways in the diffuser and the encircling common manifold increases the operating range of the compressor since pressure surges in one or more passageways are quickly equalized.

    摘要: A 360.degree. volute, radial inflow turbine housing has the housing chamber inlet and housing chamber with a radial divider extending circumferentially of the housing chamber for between approximately 180.degree. and 300.degree. dividing the housing chamber into axially adjacent parts for the extent of the divider which ultimately opens circumferentially into a common chamber part extending circumferentially over the remainder of the housing chamber. All of the housing chamber divided and common parts communicate generally radially inwardly to a generally central turbine wheel location. At the transition between the housing chamber divided parts into the common part and for the remainder of the chamber, it is preferred for optimum results to maintain the chamber radial cross section in its normal circumferential volute reduction sufficiently large such that the chamber will not restrict the progressively diminishing gas flow beyond that which would normally take place under the normal volute reduction as if the chamber divided parts had continued throughout the chamber common part. Additionally, it is preferred that the circumferential termination of the housing chamber divider be generally angled from direct radial initially at the minimum radius and progressively circumferentially to the maximum radius with the greatest circumferential extension of such divider being in the order of between approximately 180.degree. and 300.degree..

    摘要: Within a motor are two annular relatively fixed members, and a rotor mounted for rotation in closely fitting relation therewith between the outer annular member and the inner annular member. Both the inner and outer annular members are adapted to circulate air in each of opposite radial directions through the rotor, such circulation being through circumferentially spaced passageways in the rotor having outlet ports terminating in coacting passageways of the inner and outer annular members respectively to develop thrusts which effect rotation of the rotor. The passageways in the rotor communicate with coacting passageways in the inner and outer annular radial members so that when compressed air or other fluid exits from the rotor either radially outwardly or radially inwardly it will develop a thrust on the rotor. The passageways are serially connected so that the propelling fluid can be recirculated to produce successive thrusts on the rotor whenever the fluid exits from the rotor in either a radially outward direction or a radially inward direction. Furthermore, the passageways in the rotor are specially constructed so as to develop thrust on the rotor regardless of the angular position of the rotor and at ideal angles of thrust on the rotor.

    摘要: A radial flow steam turbine, with combined impulse and reaction stages on the one rotor. Each set of blades of the turbine has multiple impulse stages with the steam flowing radially inward towards the rotor axis, and leading to multiple reaction stages with the steam flowing radially outward and away from the rotor axis. The impulse stage passages have a tapered shape to accommodate the increase in the volume of steam through the concentric stages of blades with the blades being progressively larger in each circular stage. The reaction passage is of uniform cross-sectional area as the increase in velocity of steam compensates for the increase in steam volume through the passage.
