    摘要: A valve is mounted on a conduit from which it is desired to take a sample of the liquid which flows along the conduit. The body of the valve includes a through passage within which a needle valve member is removably inserted to close the valve. The body is provided, opposite said passage, with a collar in which is engaged the end of a rigid tube with a sampling vessel provided with a needle valve. Thus, it is possible to withdraw samples of the liquid into the vessel without any leakage of liquid and even without any emanation therefrom occuring, which is of the highest importance in the case of toxic or noxious liquids. Moreover, the device does not produce any dead volume of liquid which it would be necessary to purge before each taking or sampling of liquid from the conduit.

A diaphragm controlled servo positioning valve (44) is disposed between the gas inlet (32) and the variable proportioning device (38) and is opened and positioned by a diaphragm controlled throttle valve (58) which differentially senses liquid pressure and gas pressure to the variable proportioning device (38). Adjustment means (102, 104) are provided for the throttle valve (58) to increase the pressure difference across the liquid leg of the variable proportioning device (38) between the liquid inlet (36) and the outlet (42) without increasing the pressure difference across the gas leg of the variable proportioning device (38).

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for maintaining polymer particles in readily recoverable, discrete form, and for injecting the particles into a pipeline hydrocarbon by disposing particulate polymer within a storage hopper having a cone bottom and an auger extending upwardly from the bottom, rotating the auger to cause the polymer particles to revolve in the hopper, reversing the rotation of the auger to pass polymer particles downwardly into a mixing chamber below the hopper, the particles passing through a rotary metering valve, or optionally, a bin activator, intermediate storage and rotary metering valve at the upper end of the chamber, simultaneously spraying a liquid such as oil or water tangentially in the chamber optionally agitating the chamber and removing a slurry of particulate polymer and the liquid from the chamber and injecting the slurry into a pipeline hydrocarbon.

    摘要: Retractable quills for use with a pipe or vessel containing a fluid, and methods of operation thereof, are described. The retractable quill has a cylinder and a hollow rod slidably disposed within the cylinder, the hollow rod having a first end configured to be inserted into the pipe or vessel in fluid communication with the fluid. The retractable quill also has a drive system configured to move the hollow rod within the cylinder between an extended position where the first end of the hollow rod is inserted into the pipe or vessel and within the fluid and a retracted position where the first end of the hollow rod is outside of the pipe or vessel. The retractable quill may be configured to maintain a positive pressure seal when the hollow rod is moved between the extended position and the retracted position.

    摘要: A fluid injection system for dispensing a solution into a fluid flow in a flow line, the fluid injection system including a storage tank having a product to be dispensed therein. The system includes a connector for connection to a fluid flow line.
