Abstract: A combustion chamber assembly includes a through hole on the combustion chamber wall bounded on an outer side of the wall by a hole edge and a combustion chamber shingle having a collar bounding a mixing air hole on the outer side of the wall and protruding with a first collar portion beyond the hole edge on the outer side of the wall. A cooling air opening is formed on an inner circumferential surface of a duct portion of the mixing air hole adjoining the first collar portion and extending in the direction of a combustion space, the cooling air opening leading into a cooling air duct which extends through the duct portion and via which cooling air is guided out of the mixing air hole in a direction of a hot side of the shingle facing the combustion space.

Abstract: An endwall may be disposed at one end of a vane assembly. The endwall may comprise an endwall spar and a coversheet on the hot surface of the endwall spar. The endwall may further comprise a cooling fluid channel between the hot surface of the endwall spar and the cold surface of the coversheet. The cooling fluid channel may include a cooling fluid inlet disposed in the endwall spar, and a cooling fluid outlet. The cooling fluid outlet may be formed at an angle with the axis of the endwall spar. A plurality of pedestals may be disposed on the hot surface of the endwall spar extending into the cooling channel. The pedestals may be formed at an angle with the axis of the endwall spar to direct a cooling fluid.

A ratio of the combustor chamber length to the lean burn fuel injector head tip diameter is less than 5.

Abstract: A printing method for selectively depositing braze powders on a surface comprises extruding a filament from a nozzle moving relative to a surface, where the filament comprises a flowable carrier mixed with a braze powder. As the nozzle moves, the filament is deposited on the surface in a predetermined pattern defined by the motion of the nozzle relative to the surface; thus, the braze powders are deposited at one or more predetermined locations on the surface.

The softened filament may include a sacrificial binder and a powder including a shape memory alloy (SMA). The method also may include removing substantially all the sacrificial binder from the fused filament fabricated component to leave an unsintered component; and sintering the unsintered component to join particles of the SMA and form an SMA component.
