Abstract: Technology for an eNodeB to communicate with a user equipment (UE) using a self-contained time division duplex (TDD) subframe within a wireless communication network is disclosed. The eNodeB can process, for transmission to the UE, a DL self-contained time division duplex (TDD) subframe comprising an extended physical downlink shared channel (xPDSCH), an extended physical downlink control channel (xPDCCH), a downlink (DL) spacing signal, and a guard period, wherein the xPDSCH, the xPDCCH, the DL spacing signal, and the guard time are located within the DL self-contained TDD subframe prior to an extended physical uplink control channel (xPUCCH). The eNodeB can process, an uplink (UL) self-contained TDD subframe, received from the UE, having a UL spacing signal located after an extended physical uplink shared channel (xPUSCH).

Abstract: Provided herein are method and apparatus for configuration of a Reference Signal (RS) and a Tracking Reference Signal (TRS). An embodiment provides an apparatus for an access node including a radio frequency (RF) interface; and processing circuitry configured to: determine a time density of a Tracking Reference Signal (TRS) based on a subcarrier spacing of a bandwidth part (BWP) in a current component carrier for a user equipment (UE); determine a frequency density of the TRS based on a bandwidth of the TRS; determine a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship of the TRS; and encode the TRS based on at least one of the time density, the frequency density and the QCL relationship for transmission to the UE via the RF interface. At least some embodiments allow for beam management, and allow for fine time and/or frequency offset tracking.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive information, via radio resource control (RRC) signaling, regarding a search space of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) for obtaining downlink control information (DCI) from a radio access network (RAN) node. Based on a slot format (SF) index in the DCI, the UE may determine a slot format for communicating with the RAN node, and communicate with the RAN node in accordance with the slot format. Additionally, a UE may communicate UE capability information, which may include a maximum number of blind decode attempts (BDAs), to the RAN node. The UE may determine shortened channel control elements (sCCEs) to be used, by the RAN node, to transmit shortened downlink control information (sDCI) via a shortened physical downlink control channel (sPDCCH), obtain sDCI by monitoring the sPDCCH in accordance with the determined sCCEs, and communicate with the RAN node in accordance with the sDCI.

Abstract: Timing determination techniques for 5G radio access network cells are described. According to various such techniques, during a random access procedure in a 5G cell, user equipment (UE) may determine slot offset values applicable to various transmissions associated with the random access procedure using procedures that do not rely on UE-specific radio resource control (RRC) signaling. According to some such techniques, during system information acquisition in a 5G cell, a UE may determine applicable slot offset values for one or more system information block (SIB) transmissions using procedures that do not rely on UE-specific radio resource control (RRC) signaling. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Devices for and methods of providing low latency 5G FDD communications are generally described. A HARQ ACK/NACK for an xPDSCH is transmitted in the xPUCCH of the same or next subframe as the xPDSCH and xPDCCH. An xPUSCH is generated in the same subframe in response to an xPDCCH and HARQ ACK/NACK response is carried by another xPDCCH or xPHICH in the same or next sub frame. The xPDCCH and the xPUCCH are at opposite ends of the same subframe, DL and UL subframe are delayed relative to each other, or at least one of the DL and UL subframe has an additional blank portion, portion with data associated with another UE or portion that contains a reference signal, broadcast signal or control information.

Abstract: The disclosure describes mechanisms for reliability enhancement on control channel and data channel and mechanisms in URLLC. An apparatus of a RAN node for URLLC includes baseband circuitry to configure at least one DCI for scheduling transmission of at least one PDSCH content having same information. For each DCI, the baseband circuitry determines a CORESET for transmitting the DCI. The disclosure further describes mechanisms for the support of low latency transmission in URLLC. To improve peak data rate and spectrum efficiency in FDD system, the RAN node configures a DCI for scheduling data transmission using blank resources of a self-contained slot structure. Further, CBG-based transmission with separate HARQ-ACK feedback is provided to configure a DCI for scheduling data transmission of a TB and to divide the TB into multiple CBGs, and to configure uplink control data to carry separate HARQ feedback for the CBGs.

In one embodiment, a method for signaling a wireless system is disclosed, comprising: determining, by a user equipment (UE), that a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) overlaps with a configured grant (CG) physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) within a PUCCH group; multiplexing uplink control information (UCI) with a CG UCI based on the determination; and transmitting, by the UE to the wireless system, the multiplexed UCI with the CG UCI.
