Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to preemption indicators in the context of multiplexing different services on wireless physical layer frames. In some embodiments, a preemption indication is transmitted to indicate resources used by a preempting transmission. The preemption indication may be used when preemption is enabled, e.g., as indicated by an RRC message. The preemption indication may be common to multiple UEs. The resources used by the preempting transmission may overlap with other transmissions. In various embodiments, the disclosed techniques may facilitate signal preemption, e.g., by a low-latency, high-reliability data service.

Abstract: A device may wirelessly transmit a physical RACH, and a first message on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), in a first step of a 2-step random access channel (RACH) procedure. The device may receive a second message on a physical downlink shared channel in response to successful detection of the first message, in a second step of the 2-step RACH procedure. When detection of the first message is unsuccessful, the device may be instructed to fall back to a 4-step RACH procedure. The device may be configured with one or more first message transmit opportunities (PO), one of which may include one or more PUSCH resource units (PRUs). Some of the communication parameters of the device may be configured to be common for each PO, while other communication parameters may be configured per PRU. Respective new Radio Network Temporary ID values may be defined for the first message and second message.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing downlink signal reception with antenna panel switching in a wireless communication system. A cellular base station may receive an indication of an antenna panel activation delay from a wireless device. The cellular base station may select a scheduling offset for a transmission to the wireless device based at least in part on the antenna panel activation delay. The scheduling offset may be selected to be at least the length of the antenna panel activation delay if it is expected that the wireless device may perform antenna panel activation to receive the transmission. The cellular base station may schedule the transmission to the wireless device using the selected scheduling offset, and may perform the transmission to the wireless device at the selected scheduling offset after scheduling the transmission to the wireless device.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform simultaneous uplink activity for multiple RATs in the same carrier using frequency division multiplexing. The wireless device may establish a first wireless link with a first base station according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second wireless link with a second base station according to a second RAT. The first base station may provide a first cell operating in a first system bandwidth and the second base station may provide a second cell operating in a second system bandwidth. The wireless device may determine whether the wireless device has uplink activity scheduled according to both the first RAT and the second RAT. If so, the wireless device may perform uplink activity for both the first RAT and the second RAT in the first system bandwidth using frequency division multiplexing.
