    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses relating to controlling an emission of a display panel. In one embodiment, a display driver hardware circuit includes row selection logic to select a number of rows in an emission group of a display panel, wherein the number of rows is adjustable from a single row to a full panel of the display panel, column selection logic to select a number of columns in the emission group of the display panel, wherein the number of columns is adjustable from a single column to the full panel of the display panel, and emission logic to select a number of pulses per data frame to be displayed, wherein the number of pulses per data frame is adjustable from one to a plurality and a pulse length is adjustable from a continuous duty cycle to a non-continuous duty cycle.

    Abstract: An electronic display includes an active area including multiple pixels. The electronic display also includes a first row driver set including a first column of row drivers and a second column of row drivers. A first active row driver in the first column of row drivers drives a first portion of the multiple pixels, and a first spare row driver in the second column of row drivers is in an inactive state. The electronic display also includes a second row driver set including a third column of row drivers and a fourth column of row drivers. A third active row driver in the third column of row drivers drives a second portion of the multiple pixels, and a second spare row driver in the fourth column of row drivers is inactive.

    Abstract: An electronic device may include an electronic display panel having multiple display pixels for displaying an image based on analog voltage signals. The electronic device may also include interpolation circuitry to generate the analog voltage signals based on digital image data corresponding to the image. The interpolation circuitry may also receive analog reference voltages and interpolate between sets of the analog reference voltages to generate intermediate voltages, which may be a part of the analog voltage signals. Interpolating between the sets analog reference voltages may include performing a first level interpolation of a first set of the analog reference voltages to generate a first intermediate voltage and performing a second level interpolation of a second set of the analog reference voltages to generate a second intermediate voltage, wherein the first level interpolation is different from the second level interpolation.

    Abstract: Efficiently transmitting image data to an electronic display may be provided by skipping regions of the electronic display that display a default value. The electronic display may include a number of pixels, a row driver, and a data driver. The row driver may activate a first subset of the pixels for programming. The data driver may program a default pixel value to respective pixels of the first subset of the pixels for which image data has not been received and may program image data to respective pixels of the first subset of the pixels for which image data has been received.

    Abstract: A display device has a timing controller and a microdriver. The timing controller receives multiple bit sequences of image data for multiple pixels of the display device. The timing controller also reorders the multiple bit sequences based on a significant bit position within the multiple bit sequences. Each of the multiple bit sequences corresponds to a respective individual pixel of the multiple pixels. The microdriver receives the reordered multiple bit sequences and drives the multiple pixels using the reordered plurality of bit sequences.

The microdriver is configured to light one or more connected micro light emitting diode pixels coupled to the microdriver during the testing mode. Testing also includes operating the microdriver in the testing mode and determining functionality of the one or more connected micro light emitting diode pixels or the microdriver based on the testing mode.
