Abstract: A delivery system for delivering an implant having both a rigid portion and a flexible portion to a body lumen. The delivery system includes an outer tubular member and an inner tubular member slidably disposed within the lumen of the outer tubular member. The inner tubular member includes at least one opening positioned in a side wall adjacent to a distal end region. An expandable implant, including a rigid portion and a flexible portion, is disposed about the outer surface of the inner tubular member. A distal portion of a thread is wrapped around the flexible portion of the implant and configured to maintain the flexible portion in a radially collapsed configuration during delivery of the implant. A distal end region of the outer tubular member is disposed around the rigid portion of the implant to maintain the rigid portion in a radially collapsed configuration during delivery of the implant.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and medical device delivery. In particular, the present disclosure relates to medical devices and delivery systems for positioning and delivering medical devices with an unsupported structure, for example, within a distant and/or tortuous portion of body lumen. For example, a delivery system may position a supported structure of a medical device within a proximal portion of a body lumen and an unsupported structure of the medical device within a distal portion of the body lumen. Examples include delivery systems within an unsupported structure of a medical device to be delivered, wherein a number of balloons are arranged un-inflated within the unsupported, with a distal balloon removably attached to a distal portion of the unsupported structure, and the balloons are inflatable in series to deploy the unsupported structure linearly from the distal end of the delivery system.

Abstract: A stent with a selectively covered end region. The stent includes a radially expandable tubular framework and a covering surrounding the tubular framework. The covering includes a skirt surrounding a distal end region of the tubular framework which is selectively removable from the distal end region of the tubular framework to expose the distal end region of the tubular framework to permit hyperplastic tissue ingrowth through the distal end region of the tubular framework. For example, the skirt may be folded, rolled, collapsed, or separated from the remainder of the covering to expose the distal end region of the tubular framework.

Abstract: A stent delivery device having a delivery configuration for delivering a stent to a treatment location and a deployment configuration for deploying the stent at the treatment location may include an outer sheath, an inner shaft slidably disposed within a lumen of the outer sheath, and a distal tip member fixedly attached to a distal end of the inner shaft. A distal portion of the outer sheath may include a plurality of longitudinal strips circumferentially disposed about the lumen of the outer sheath. At least a portion of the distal tip member may be configured to slide over a distal end of the outer sheath in the delivery configuration.

Abstract: A gastrointestinal assembly may be deployed within a patient's gastrointestinal tract in order to facilitate drainage of an abscess. The gastrointestinal assembly may include an outer stent and an inner stent disposed within the outer stent. The inner stent divides a volume within the outer stent into a primary passageway through which nutritional contents may pass and a secondary passageway protected from nutritional contents and configured to accommodate a passive drainage system for draining the abscess.
