Abstract:
A device and method for active scanning are disclosed. The active scanning method in a wireless LAN can comprise the steps of: allowing an AP to receive a probe request frame containing an the AP identifier; determining whether the AP is a target AP or a non-target AP on the basis of the AP identifier; and performing back-off for the transmission of a probe response frame from a second interval after a first interval is terminated in a minimum channel interval when the AP is a non-target AP. Therefore, the present invention can prevent probe response frames from flooding a STA in a short period of time by distributing intervals in which probe response frames are received to the STA. In addition, the time used by the STA to perform active scanning can be reduced.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for active scanning in a wireless LAN. The method for active scanning in a wireless LAN may comprise the steps of: a first station (STA) transmitting a first probe request frame to an access point (AP); and a first STA receiving a probe response frame from the AP, wherein the probe response frame is a response for the probe request frame, and the first probe request frame comprises fast initial link setup (FILS) capability information which can indicate whether the first STA supports FILS.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a scanning method and scanning apparatus in a wireless LAN. The scanning method in a wireless LAN comprises: a step in which an access point (AP) receives a first probe request frame from a first station (STA); a step in which the AP unicasts a first probe response frame to the first STA as a response to the first probe request frame; a step in which the AP receives a second probe request frame from a second STA for a specific time interval after unicasting the first probe response frame to the first STA; and a step in which the AP broadcasts a second probe response frame as a response to the second probe request frame for a specific time interval. Thus, scanning processes can be quickly performed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more specifically, disclosed are a method and an apparatus for filtering-based scanning in a WLAN system. A method for a station (STA) setting up a high-speed link in the wireless communication system, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: transmitting a first frame comprising filtering information to at least one access point (AP); and receiving a second frame from a portion or all of the at least one AP, wherein whether to transmit the second frame can be determined on the basis of the filtering information.
Abstract:
A method and a device for performing active scanning are disclosed. The method for active scanning of a STA comprises the steps of: transmitting a probe request frame that contains channel monitoring type information in a scanning channel; determining whether the scanning channel is in a busy state until a MinimumChannelTime; determining whether a PPDU including a valid PLCP header is received in the scanning channel until the MinimumChannelTime; and determining a time for monitoring a probe response frame transmitted by the AP in the scanning channel based on whether the PPDU is received until the MinimumChannelTime and channel monitoring type information, when the scanning channel is in the busy state, wherein the channel monitoring type information can contain information on a type with which the STA monitors the probe response frame in the scanning channel.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for accessing a channel in a wireless LAN. A method for a station (STA) accessing a channel may comprise: a step of the STA receiving an access distribution element through a passive scanning frame; the STA selecting an access random variable based on the access distribution element; a step of the STA determining a minimum value of a passive scanning-specific competition window based on the access random variable; and the STA accessing the channel based on a back off time that is determined based on the passive scanning-specific competition window.

Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for scanning in a wireless LAN. A method for scanning by a station (STA) can comprise the steps of: the STA generating a MAC layer management entity (MLME).SCAN.request.primitive comprising information for a basic service set identifier (BSSID) and a service set identifier (SSID); the STA generating a probe request frame comprising wildcard BSSID and SSID; the STA multi-casting the probe request frame to a first AP forming an extended service set (ESS) network using a particular SSID; and the STA receiving a probe response frame broadcast from the first AP as a response to the probe request frame.
Abstract:
A scanning method and apparatus in wireless LAN is disclosed. The method comprises determining, by an access point (AP), whether to accommodate a station (STA) conducting an initial link setup and transmitting, by the AP, a frame to the STA, the frame including scanning redirection information for the STA to switch other channel, other band, or a neighbor AP when the AP determines not to accommodate the STA. The scanning redirection information includes a band field and a channel field. The band field indicating a band in which the STA conducts the initial link setup when the STA conducts the initial link setup from current band to the other band. The channel field indicating a channel in which the STA conducts the initial link setup when the STA conducts the initial link setup from current channel to the other channel.
Abstract:
A method and device for performing channel access in a wireless LAN are disclosed. An initial channel access method of a station STA in a wireless LAN may include: receiving, from an access point (AP) by the station STA, a frame including information on a channel state, information on a channel access protection section and information on a station STA capable of performing channel access in the channel access protection section; determining a channel access priority by a station STA when the information on the channel state indicates that a wireless link is in a congestion state; and performing initial channel access in the channel access protection section based on the channel access priority determined by the station STA and the information on the station STA capable of performing channel access in the channel access protection section.
