    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses, and computer readable storage media of access resource selection for Small Data Transmission (SDT). The method comprises determining one or more resources used for a mobile terminated type SDT procedure; and performing the mobile terminated type SDT procedure to a second device based on the determined one or more resources. In this way, separate resources can be configured for mobile originated SDT (MO-SDT) and mobile terminated SDT (MT-SDT). It is beneficial considering the MO-SDT and MT-SDT might have different assumption/thresholds of UL data available for transmission and Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) threshold, hence impact the network response or further scheduling.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for determining a transmission resource for initiating a data transmission. The method (100) performed by a terminal device may comprise: acquiring (S102) a time limit for determining whether a configured transmission resource is within the time limit; and initiating (S104), based on the transmission resource being within the time limit and being valid for a data transmission, the data transmission using the transmission resource in an inactive state. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the time limit is considered for determining the transmission resource, and thus the data transmission can be performed timely.

    Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to random access to a secondary cell (SCell). A first device receives, from a second device, configuration information indicating first resources for the first device to perform a random access to a secondary cell of the first device. Radio network temporary identifiers corresponding to the first resources are different from radio network temporary identifiers corresponding to second resources configured for a random access to a primary cell of the first device. The first device selects a resource from the first resources and transmits, to the second device via the secondary cell, a random access request by using the selected resource.

    Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to initiation of small data transmission (SDT). A first device determines whether SDT is allowed to be initiated at a first protocol layer of the first device. In accordance with a determination that the SDT is allowed to be initiated at the first protocol layer, the first device determines whether the SDT is allowed to be initiated at a second protocol layer of the first device. In accordance with a determination that the SDT is allowed to be initiated at the second protocol layer, the first device initiates, via the first protocol layer, a communication procedure for the SDT with a second device. Through this solution, it is possible to avoid unnecessary interactions between protocol layers as well as avoid false resume of the radio bearer when the SDT procedure cannot be performed.
