Abstract:
A method for embossing a barrier paper, wherein the barrier paper comprises paper and a protective layer on at least one of its sides. The method comprises providing a first embossing system with a first embossing tool and a second embossing tool cooperating with the first embossing tool to emboss the barrier paper: providing a patrix structure on the first embossing tool: providing a matrix structure on the second embossing tool: whereby the matrix structure corresponds to the patrix structure in such a manner that when embossing the barrier paper, a functionality of the protective layer is preserved. The method further comprises embossing the barrier paper by inserting the barrier paper between the first and the second embossing tools, applying pressure between the patrix and the matrix structures to press the patrix structure on a paper side which is a side of the barrier paper opposite to the side with the protective layer of the barrier paper, and push the barrier paper in the matrix structure, whereby the protective layer faces the matrix structure, thereby modifying a fiber structure of the paper in the barrier paper by at least one of the following effects: breaking of paper fibers, compressing of the paper fibers, densifying of the paper fibers; resulting in a modified folding behavior of the barrier paper and in maintaining a substantially unchanged shape of the barrier paper over its lifetime.
Abstract:
An embossing group with interchangeable rollers for the surface processing of tissue paper comprises a frame (13) bearing three pairs of steel embossing rollers (17), each pair being movable between a first operative position for embossing two paper plies (11, 12) and rest positions, as well as it comprises two rubber-coated rollers (19, 20) which can be coupled with the pair of embossing rollers (17) placed in the operative position, and it further comprises two pairs of rotating supports (14, 15), wherein each one is provided with three arms (16), each one bearing at the end a locking element (18) for one end of an embossing roller (17), the rotating supports (14, 15) being constrained to the frame (13) rotating around their own central axis.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide an embossed crepe paper which can clearly be formed into fine embossed shapes, and is excellent in the fluffy feel and therefore excellent in such as absorbency for fats. As a means of achieving this object, the method for manufacturing an embossed crepe paper, according to the present invention, is a method for manufacturing an embossed crepe paper comprising a step of embossing a raw crepe paper, wherein: a raw paper having a basis weight of 6 to 28 g/m2 is used as the raw crepe paper; and the embossing step includes the steps of: (a) supplying the raw crepe paper with water in an amount of 0.1 to 100 weight % based on the basis weight to thereby put the raw crepe paper in a wet condition; (b) embossing the wet-conditioned raw crepe paper; and (c) drying the embossed wet-conditioned raw crepe paper.
Abstract:
A method for processing a web material having a machine direction and a cross-machine direction coplanar and perpendicular thereto is disclosed herein. The method incorporates the step of first directing a web material proximate to an air foil. Steam is then applied to the web material by the air foil. Finally, the web material is processed by any downstream web material processing operation.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a hygiene product, includes the steps of providing at least a first web (1) and a second web (2), pre-treating the first web and/or the second web, embossing the first web with a décor embossing pattern in a first décor embossing zone (38) having a décor embossing roll (34), and laminating together the first web and the second web in a lamination zone (30), the lamination zone being defined between the décor embossing roll and a lamination roll (36), wherein the décor embossing roll and the lamination roll have a generally-equal surface hardness.
Abstract:
A method of embossing an absorbent web with a machine direction undulatory structure is described. The web has a plurality of ridges extending in its machine direction occurring at a frequency, F, across the web and the method includes providing the web to an embossing station where the web is embossed between a first and second embossing roll, each of which rolls may be provided with a plurality of embossing elements configured to define a plurality of embossing nips. At least a portion of the embossing nips are substantially oriented in a cross-machine direction with respect to the web and have a cross direction length, L. The product F×L is from about 0.1 to about 5.
Abstract:
The device for joining at least two plies of paper (V1, V2), in particular tissue paper, comprises a ply-bonding unit (9) and moistening means (11) to moisten at least one of said two plies before joining.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to processes for producing a deep-nested embossed paper products. The invention relates to a process for producing a deep-nested embossed paper products comprising one or more plies of paper where the resulting embossed ply or plies of paper comprise a plurality of embossments having an average embossment height of at least about 650 μm and have a high finished product wet burst strength relative to the unembossed wet strength. The present invention relates to a process for producing deep-nested embossed paper products comprising the steps of a) delivering one or more plies of paper to a deep-nested embossing process, b) conditioning the one or more plies of paper, wherein the conditioning step comprises heating the one or more plies of paper, adding moisture to the one or more plies of paper, or both heating and adding moisture to the one or more plies of paper, and c) embossing the one or more plies of the paper where the resulting embossed ply or plies of paper comprise a plurality of embossments having an average embossment height of at least about 650 μm.
Abstract:
An on-line process for manufacturing a multi-ply hygienic paper product is provided which involves the steps of supplying at least two separate webs to a processing station, applying to at least one of the surfaces of a web forming an outer ply a softening composition, adjoining the webs by gluing and/or embossing to manufacture a multi-ply hygienic paper product and directly transporting such paper to a cutting and/ or further processing station.
Abstract:
