Abstract:
A chassis locking apparatus capable of being unlocked spontaneously is used for fixing the chassis in a scanner. The locking apparatus includes a groove interlinking next to the electric socket, a push rod in the groove, and a revolving locking element. By means of the strength of inserting the plug into the socket on the scanner, the push rod is pushed to move along the groove and hit the locking element, which is originally fixed on the chassis, to make the locking element rotate so that the chassis locking apparatus can be unlocked spontaneously. Therefore, no effort is necessary for a user to unlock the chassis locking apparatus by hand before using the scanner, which is convenient and timesaving.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus according to this invention includes a document conveyance unit mounted movably from a position facing an upper surface of a document table to an upper position for conveying a document medium to place the document medium on the document table, a reading unit having an aperture for optically reading information from the document medium, a shielding member arranged to be slidable in a direction parallel to the upper surface of the document table for shielding the aperture, a detection unit for detecting whether the document conveyance unit covers the upper surface of the document table, and a control unit for controlling movement of the shielding member. With the image forming apparatus having such the structure, a document reading time can be shortened where successively reading document media of plural sheets while preventing foreign materials from attaching to the reading unit.
Abstract:
An image forming device comprises a plurality of unit modules arranged in a main scanning direction, each unit module having a light source that modulates according to image data and a deflection unit which deflects the light emitted from the light source to scan a surface to be scanned. Areas scanned with each unit module are joined together to record the image. The image data includes fixed pixel areas in number equal to the number of the unit modules and which have one scanning line in common with the adjacent fixed pixel area, and variable pixel areas that link up the fixed pixel areas. The image data is constructed by adding pixels of each unit module to the variable pixel areas at a record start side or a record stop side of the fixed pixel areas, and the variable pixel areas are commonly shared between two neighboring unit modules.
Abstract:
At least one exemplary embodiment is directed to an optical unit adapted to irradiate image exposure light to an image carrier comprises a frame containing optical parts arranged therein and having an opening, and a cover adapted to cover the opening. The cover can be fixed by fixing members to the frame at three points in a first plane including the opening. The cover can further be fixed by fixing members to the frame at a second plane positioned on the frame and being adjacent to the first plane and at a third plane positioned on the frame and being not parallel to the second plane. Thus, an optical unit can be obtained which has high rigidity while, when the cover is attached to the opening, maintaining satisfactory flatness of the cover in a plane including the opening.
Abstract:
In an optical scanning device using two polygon mirrors, the present invention achieves both a simplification of the device and a reduction of vibrations. An optical scanning device is provided with a first optical system including a polygon mirror and a second optical system including a polygon mirror. The polygon mirror provided in the first optical system and the polygon mirror provided in the second optical system are configured such that they rotate in mutually opposite directions. Further, the optical scanning device is provided with one BD sensor for detecting laser beams that are scanned with the polygon mirrors. Slits with mutually different widths are arranged between the BD sensor and the respective polygon mirrors of the first and second optical systems.
Abstract:
Scanner. A scanner for scanning an object comprises a main body, a cover, and a positioning mechanism. The cover is rotatably disposed on the main body. The positioning mechanism is disposed on the main body and the cover. When the cover is open and the object is disposed between the main body and the cover, the object is maintained thereon by the positioning mechanism. When the cover is closed, the cover forces the positioning mechanism to press on the object such that the object is abutted on the main body.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus, including a transparent plate, a positioning member which is provided on the transparent plate so as to define, on one of opposite sides of the positioning member, a reading place where a sheet having an image is placed, and which positions the sheet placed on the reading place, an image taking device, a housing which supports the transparent plate and accommodates the image taking device such that the image taking device is movable below, and along, the transparent plate, and a reading control portion which controls the image taking device to take, through the transparent plate, the image from the sheet placed on the reading place, while the image taking device is moved below, and along, the transparent plate. The positioning member is detachably attached to the housing.
Abstract:
In an image reading apparatus that can read a reflection original and transparent original, a film holder for holding the transparent original is provided to be pivotal to the left or right about a shaft as the center. After the transparent original is set such that its image can be seen correctly, when the film holder is brought down to the right, the film can be set correctly concerning its upper and lower sides. At this time, as the film holder is held by the reading apparatus, its positional shift can also be prevented.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an image reading apparatus which enables high-speed reading of an image transmitted through a transparent material such as a photographic film or an image reflected by a reflective material. In the image reading apparatus, a transparent material such as a photographic film is first conveyed in a conveying direction thereof, and an image frame to be read is positioned at a reading position. After the image frame is positioned, light emitted from a lamp is made into slit light by a light diffusion box, a longitudinal direction of the slit light coinciding with the conveying direction of the photographic film, and the slit light is irradiated on a portion (line) to be read of the photographic film. Light transmitted through the portion of the photographic film is imaged by a lens unit onto a light-receiving surface of a line CCD (a reading sensor) which is disposed along the longitudinal direction of the photographic film. The photographic film is moved by sub-scanning means in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction the photographic film is conveyed, and the position of a subsequent portion (line) to be read is determined. In this way, an image recorded on the photographic film is read line by line along a longitudinal direction of the image frame.
Abstract:
In order to provide an image reading apparatus of which a contact glass sheet can be replaced and recycled with ease without damaging the contact glass sheet when removing the same, and further intrusion of particles of dust into the apparatus when operating the apparatus can be prevented, an image reading apparatus having an image reading unit mounted to be able to be reciprocated in a frame body of the apparatus and a contact glass sheet is composed such that; the frame body comprises an upward-open lower frame in which the image reading unit is accommodated to be able to be reciprocated and an upper frame having an opening on the upper face thereof to be covered with the contact glass sheet, the upper and lower frames are assembled detachably by means of fitting portions provided to both frames, the contact glass sheet is attached to said upper frame by means of a strip-shaped adhesive member glued onto the undersurface of the upper frame along the brim part of the opening to be covered with the contact glass sheet, the strip-shaped adhesive member is glued onto the undersurface of the upper frame so that the strip is not continuous but partially interrupted to provide interrupted parts, and the glass sheet supports protruding from the lower frame are positioned to support the contact glass sheet at the position corresponding to the interrupted parts of the strip-shaped adhesive member.
