    摘要: A connector assembly is mounted through an aperture in a panel, the aperture defining an axis. A first connecting device is mountable in the aperture in the panel. A second connecting device is insertable axially into the first connecting device. One of the connecting devices includes two portions relatively movable axially, with one portion being mateable with the other connecting device. A first latch is provided between the two portions of the one connecting device to prevent relative axial movement therebetween. A second latch is provided between the other connecting device and the one portion of the one connecting device when the other connecting device is mated therewith. A release is provided on the other connecting device for releasing the first latch between the two portions of the one connecting device to allow the mated other connecting device to float relative to the panel.

    摘要: The present invention is drawn to a system for attaching and supporting a cable to an IO panel of an electronic component such as the IO back panel of a computer. The system is comprised of a cable dock coupled to an IO panel, with a gasket disposed within the cable dock to form a conducting path from the IO panel to the cable backshell. In particular, a cable dock is fixed to the IO panel where an IO connector is exposed. Once the cable backshell is plugged into the cable dock, the cable dock provides mechanical support for a cable assembly comprising the cable-end connector, the cable backshell and the cable. The cable assembly is secured by the cable dock rather than by the coupling made between the cable-end connector and the IO connector. The cable dock also orients the cable-end connector in coupling to the IO connector such that the cable backshell is prevented from being incorrectly plugged into the cable dock. Finally, the gasket disposed within the cable dock shortens the typical electrical conducting path between the IO back panel and the cable assembly. Unlike the prior art connector systems, current flows better between the IO panel and the cable assembly to form an EMI shield. Also, unlike the prior art EMI shielding, this EMI shield is well suited for shielding high frequency EMI.

A cutout portion (30) in draw out unit (10) receives an insulative housing (32) for a lug adapter assembly (34). Lug adapter assembly (34) includes a plurality of clip assemblies (36) positioned within receptacles (38) formed on insulative housing (32). Each clip assembly (36) slidably accepts one bus bar (16), thereby providing an electrical connection to bus bars (16). Lug adapter assembly (34) also includes lugs (40), which are electrically connected to clip assemblies (36) via a conductive bar (42). Lugs (40) accept wires (44), which extend from lugs (46) in switching device (12). Lugs (40) are arranged to minimize bending of wires (44). Clip assemblies (36) each include a plurality of staggered clips (104, 106). Upon insertion of draw out unit (10) into the switchgear, each bus bar (16) is received by the contact arms (116, 118) of first clip (106), before being received by contact arms (116, 118) of the second clip (104).

Terminal fittings 35 are composed of electrically conductive fixed terminals 36, these fixed terminals 36 being fixed to electric wires 32 and being fixed on a connector unit 20, and movable terminals 37. The movable terminals 37 maintain a contacting state with the fixed terminals 36 and being capable of moving in a direction perpendicular to a direction of joining of two units 10 and 20. If terminal members 16 and the terminal fittings 35 show a dislocation in position when the two units 10 and 20 are to be joined together, the terminals 37 within the terminal fittings 35 change position, thereby absorbing the dislocation in position and allowing the terminal members 16 to fit without hindrance.
