Abstract: A storage bag shifts between a flat configuration with first and second sidewalls positioned adjacent to each other, and a stand-up configuration with the sidewalls separated. In the stand-up configuration, the bag has a substantially flat base (i) formed by the bottom portion of the first and second sidewalls, and (ii) outlined by at least one of the shift regions of the sidewalls. An angle α is defined between each of (i) the first shift region of the first sidewall and an adjacent edge of the bag and (ii) the first shift region of the second sidewall and an adjacent edge of the bag, and (b) a differing angle β is defined between each of (i) the second shift region of the first sidewall and a bottom edge of the bag and (ii) the second shift region of the second sidewall and the bottom edge of the bag.

Abstract: A reclosable pouch includes an elongated closure mechanism, disposed at the top portion of the pouch, having a first male closure element coupled to a first bag wall defining a plurality of deformed segments. A first female closure element coupled to a second bag wall opposes the first male closure element. The first female closure element has first and second spaced legs that are constructed and arranged to engage the first male closure element in order to close the opening of the pouch. The deformed segments of the first male closure element create at least one of a first clicking feel and a first clicking sound when the first female closure element engages the first male closure element to close the opening of the pouch.

Abstract: A gastight valve strip for a reclosable container includes first and second film layers adapted to be disposed over an aperture through a sidewall of a reclosable container. The second film layer opposes the first and includes an attachment surface adapted to be sealed to the sidewall of the container. The attachment surface has a patterned portion that defines a region of flow channels. Opposing surfaces of the first and second film layers form a substantially gastight seal therebetween upon contact of the first and second film layers to each other. A first film layer aperture extends through the first film layer, and is in fluid communication with an exterior side of the valve strip. A second film layer aperture extends through the second film layer, is offset and spaced apart from the first film layer aperture, and is in fluid communication with the container aperture through the patterned portion.

Abstract: A storage bag includes first and second sidewalls that are directly connected without a pleat between the sidewalls at a bottom of the bag. The bag includes a plurality of shift regions at bottom portions of the sidewalls. The bag can be moved about the shift regions such that the bag is shiftable between a flat configuration with the first and second sidewalls positioned adjacent to each other and a stand-up configuration with the first and second sidewalls separated from each other. In the stand-up configuration, the bag is shifted about the shift regions such that a substantially flat base is formed for the bag. The stand-up configuration is thereby achieved without a pleat being provided between the sidewalls at a bottom of the bag. The bag further includes a cuff region that is disposed below the top of the bag for cuffing of the top of the bag.
