Abstract: A floating duck decoy system is provided that facilitates the deployment and retrieval of the duck decoys by automated robots with position and touch sensing capabilities. The robots can be freely arranged and repositioned through user manipulation and computer control. The automated robots allow the duck decoys to mimic swarm behavior, where movement and interaction of groups of animals operate according to simple rules. Therefore, nonlinear spread formations provide more realistic movement of the duck decoys.

Abstract: A wind shield supported by a beehive bottom board prevents directly impinging wind from creating high-pressure differences across the beehive such as promote excessive ventilation. By providing an entry path that opens upward and follows a twisted path, proper ventilation and access to the beehive by the bees may be maintained. The wind shield may be quickly installed on a variety of beehive designs and easily removed during warm weather.

Abstract: The present invention provides a molluscicide application apparatus and process that disperses the molluscicide below the water's surface in a manner that minimizes air entrainment and ensures that the molluscicide solution settles at the targeted floor of the body of water, such as a river or lake bed where driessenid mussels are concentrated, and do not rise to the water's surface or disperse. The present invention also maintains a desired viscosity level, for example, 180 centistokes, at typical freshwater temperatures varying from 15° C. to 25° C. by adjusting the flow rate and/or nozzle orifice area of the molluscicide application.

Abstract: The present invention provides a range of motion measurement device using electroactive polymer (EAP) sensors to derive digital measurement angles. The EAP sensors may be attached to a stationary arm and rotating arm of the range of motion measurement device to detect a percentage stretched of the EAP sensors after measuring movement is performed. The percentage stretched of the EAP sensors based upon the law of cosines may be used with a transfer function in order to determine the range of motion angle of the joint.
