Abstract: A method that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining, by a system comprising a processor, more common features of a plurality of images according to similarity matrices indicating relative similarities between instances of common features occurring within multiple images of the plurality of images, defining, by the system, cluster groups associated with the more common features, where each cluster group comprises cluster images of the plurality of images, and where the more common features are present in each the cluster images, and performing, by the system, quality-based filtering on the cluster images to identify a target cluster image to represent the cluster images for each of the cluster groups. Other embodiments are disclosed.

For instance, in one example, a user's food intake is monitored based on data collected from a sensor. The user's current nutrient consumption is estimated based on the monitoring. A recommendation is presented to the user based on the estimating, where the recommendation is designed to help the user achieve a target nutrient consumption.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer readable-media for temporally adaptive media playback. The method for adaptive media playback includes estimating or determining an amount of time between a first event and a second event, selecting media content to fill the estimated amount of time between the first event and the second event, and playing the selected media content possibly at a reasonably different speed to fit the time interval. One embodiment includes events that are destination-based or temporal-based. Another embodiment includes adding, removing, speeding up, or slowing down selected media content in order to fit the estimated amount of time between the first event and the second event or to modify the selected media content to adjust to an updated estimated amount of time. Another embodiment bases selected media content on a user or group profile.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies directed to screening streaming content with locked application programming interfaces are disclosed herein. Embodiments can include a system that is configured to perform operations that can include detecting a content stream directed to a media application on a user equipment, where audiovisual content of the content stream is presented on a display. The operations can include determining that an application programming interface corresponding to the media application is locked such that the audiovisual content from the content stream is not accessible via the application programming interface; accessing the audiovisual content that is being presented on the display without accessing the application programming interface corresponding to the media application; and scraping the audiovisual content from the display for a time period, wherein the scraping creates scraped audiovisual content corresponding to the audiovisual content that was presented on the display during the time period.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a recommended action are disclosed. For example, the method receives first data that is measured via at least one sensor deployed at a venue, receives second data from at least one user endpoint device present at the venue, wherein the second data comprises data that is measured via a sensor associated with the at least one user endpoint device, applies a perception model of the venue to the first data and the second data that are received, generates at least one recommended action when a threshold is reached, wherein the threshold is established for generating the at least one recommended action, and provides an update to the perception model of the venue based on the at least one recommended action that is generated.

Abstract: A method includes accessing, at a base station of a wireless communications network, information identifying a plurality of user devices in a coverage area of the base station. The method includes determining a forecasted content request for media content at a particular time for delivery to a first user device of the plurality of user devices based on media consumption data for the first user device. The method includes receiving, from a second user device of the plurality of user devices, a request for the media content at a time before the particular time. The method includes sending an instruction to the first user device that directs the first user device store the media content received via a multicast transmission of the media content. The method also includes sending the media content via the multicast transmission to the first user device and to the second user device responsive to the request.

Abstract: A processing system having at least one processor may establish a communication session between a first communication system of a first user and a second communication system of a second user, the communication session including first video content of a first physical environment of the first user and second video content of a second physical environment of the second user, determine a first visualization action for a first physical object in the first physical environment in accordance with a first configuration setting of the first user for the communication session, obtain the first video content from a first camera of the first communication system, detect the first physical object in the first video content, and perform the first visualization action to modify the first video content. The processing system may then transmit first visualization information including the first video content that is modified to the second communication system.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, analyzing content flow data in a communication network to obtain flow statistics; the statistics are aggregated to construct a model of the content flow based on the aggregated flow statistics. Operations of network nodes are predicted based on the model; a content delivery path in the communication network is identified. A quality of service is detected for network nodes on the content delivery path. The detected quality of service is compared with a predicted quality of service based on the model; a network anomaly is detected based on the comparing. The content flow on the content delivery path is adjusted responsive to detection of the network anomaly. Other embodiments are disclosed.
