Abstract:
The invention relates to methods of treating Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and conditions associated with Parkinson's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies. Methods include administering a therapeutically effective amount of tissue kallikrein, variants or active fragments thereof.
Abstract:
A method and technique of routing interconnects of an integrated circuit providing improved routing quality. In an embodiment of the invention, the technique provides linear spine interconnect routing. In memory array blocks, such as in DRAM and SRAM memory designs, connected pins are generally separated by large distances in a first direction and small distances in a second direction, or a spine or channel region. A route area is defined within the spine region. In one embodiment, obstacles in the route area are identified and corresponding forbidden areas are demarcated. The linear spine interconnect is routed in the first direction within the route area while avoiding the forbidden areas. Pins are connected to the spine interconnect by stitching interconnects. Stitching interconnects are generally routed in the second direction.
Abstract:
A system and method for activating one or more lights or other devices using one or more activation devices including electronic circuitry. The electronic circuitry of the activation devices includes an activation sensor, based on which the lights or other devices are activated. Activation sensors include motion, sound or light sensors. With transmitters the activation devices can activate remote lights or other devices including receivers. Activation devices can be coupled with or apart form the lights or other devices.
Abstract:
This invention relates to methods of treating Alzheimer's disease or symptoms thereof, and amnesic mild cognitive impairment or symptoms thereof. Methods of the invention include administering a therapeutically effective amount of tissue kallikrein, variants or active fragments thereof. The invention further relates to uses of tissue kallikrein or a variant or active fragment thereof for the digesting or cleaving amyloid and the treatment of conditions benefiting from the digestion or cleavage of amyloid. The invention further relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a therapeutically effective amount of tissue kallikrein, variants or active fragments thereof formulated for oral or intranasal administration.
Abstract:
A system automatically routes interconnect of an integrated circuit design using variable width interconnect lines. For example, a first automatically routed interconnect may have a different width from a second automatically routed interconnect. The system will vary the width of the interconnect lines based on certain factors or criteria. These factors include current or power handling, reliability, electromigration, voltage drops, self-heating, optical proximity effects, or other factors, or combinations of these factors. The system may use a gridded or a gridless (or shape-based) approach.
Abstract:
A method and system for debugging an executing service on a pipelined CPU architecture are described. In one embodiment, a breakpoint within an executing service is set and a minimum state of the executing service is saved. In addition, a program counter of the executing service is altered. The program counter is restored and the state of the executing service is restored.
Abstract:
A virtual queuing system and method provides for dynamic control of queue data in accordance with queue control instructions provided by a separate queue control source. The virtual queuing system comprises an interface to a queuing system and an interface to the separate queue control source. The interface to the queuing system provides for obtaining queue data and controlling the queue data in accordance with the queue control instructions provided by a separate queue control source. The interface to the separate queue control source for: i) providing the queue data to the separate queue control source; and ii) obtaining the queue control instructions there from.
Abstract:
Stage devices are disclosed for various uses including use as a reticle stage or substrate stage in a microlithography system. An exemplary device includes a carrier and multiple linear EM actuators that couple the carrier monolithically to a base. The linear EM actuators collectively provide controlled movability of the carrier relative to the base in all six DOFs (X, Y, Z, θX, θY, θZ). The multiple linear EM actuators comprise at least one multiple-DOF linear actuator but fewer than six linear EM actuators. For example, the stage device can have two two-DOF linear actuators providing respective motions of the carrier in the X, Y and Y, Z DOFs (and collectively in all six DOFs) or can have two two-DOF linear actuators providing motions of the carrier in the Y, Z, θX, θY, and θZ DOFs and a one-DOF linear actuator providing motions in the X DOF.
Abstract:
Isolated DNA encoding each of human calcium channel α1-, α2-, β- and γ-subunits, including subunits that arise as splice variants of primary transcripts, is provided. Cells and vectors containing the DNA and methods for identifying compounds that modulate the activity of human calcium channels are also provided.
Abstract:
A system of cordless outdoor power tools includes a plurality of hand-held cordless outdoor power tools, with each outdoor power tool including a housing and a motor assembly with a motor. The system may include and at least one battery pack removably attachable to one or more of the outdoor power tools. The at least one battery pack, when attached to a given tool, provides a nominal output voltage of approximately 28 volts or greater to the motor of the tool. One or more of the outdoor power tools with attached battery pack has a power output to weight ratio of 70 watts per pound (W/lb) or greater.
