摘要: An AC type plasma display panel having a first and a second electrode, each extending along a line direction and aligning along a row direction across a discharge gap therebetween, where is formed a display discharge cell. A third electrode extends along the row direction and intersects the first and second electrodes. Thus a display matrix is formed with the lines and the rows, and an address discharge cell is formed with the second electrode and the third electrode. Each of the first and second electrodes comprises a laminate of an electrically conductive transparent film stripe having a first side distant from the discharge gap and a second side near to the discharge gap with a metal film stripe thereon. A width of the metal film stripe is narrower than a width of the transparent film stripe. The metal film stripe has a third side distant from the discharge gap, and a fourth side near to the discharge gap. The metal film stripe of at least the first electrode is located such that a first distance between the second side and fourth side is smaller than a second distance between the first side and third second side, whereby a reliable long term operation can be accomplished while reducing the load of the driving circuit without decreasing the luminous efficiency.

摘要: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes carrying out an erase address operation when a display on the screen is renewed. The erase address operation includes the steps of carrying out an address preparation operation for producing the wall charge in all the discharge cells through a first step of generating a discharge only in a discharge cell in an ON-state and a second step of generating a discharge only in a discharge cell in an OFF-state, and carrying out an operation for selectively erasing the wall charge in a discharge cell other than a discharge cell corresponding to data of the image to be displayed.

摘要: A paper comprises 5 to 100% by weight of a thermotropic aromatic polyester pulp with constituting fibers having an average fiber diameter of at least 0.1 .mu.m and less than 10 .mu.m and substantially no branches, and is obtained by a process which comprises wet forming a paper material comprising 5 to 100% by weight of the above pulp which is obtained from sea-islands fibers comprising an islands component of the thermotropic aromatic polyester and a sea component of another polymer by dissolving or decomposing off the sea component before or after cutting the fibers to an average length of not more than 5 mm. The paper has excellent strength, texture, electric insulation property and like properties.
