    摘要: A coupling for mounting a structure to an object is provided. The coupling includes a pair of flanges releasably attachable to one another with planar surfaces thereof disposable in abutting relation. A plurality of linear slots is defined through one of the pair of flanges, and a plurality of arcuate slots is defined through the other of the pair of flanges. The linear and arcuate slots are arranged, shaped and dimensioned such that the flanges are alignable to overlap the linear and arcuate slots to define a plurality of through-bores for receiving fasteners, and such that they define a range of translational motion within which the flanges can be translated relative to one another and a range of rotational motion within which the flanges can be rotated relative to one another. At least one of the plurality of through-bores is maintained throughout the translational and rotational ranges.

    摘要: One embodiment of a fatigue resistant structural connection that has a primary member 19 coupled to a baseplate 17 with a circumferential weld 18. The connection employs the use of a plurality of stiffeners with elongated, contoured tails 30 coupled to the primary member with a longitudinal weld 27 and coupled to the baseplate with a weld 26. These stiffeners are oriented along the longitudinal axis of the primary member and are laid out radially from this longitudinal axis. The present embodiment: mitigates stress concentrations due to discontinuous connection geometry and therefore improves fatigue resistance, adds a degree of structural redundancy to otherwise non-redundant structures, and provides a means of retrofitting existing tall cantilevered structures. Other embodiments are described and shown.

    摘要: Tube connectors are provided for connecting tubes together to form a framework where the connectors are substantially hidden from view by ends of the tubes. Each connector has a support body and several anchor bodies that are formed integrally with the support body or independent from it. The support body has six faces with at most six anchor bodies. For any face of the support body that does not have an anchor body, it is formed to be coplanar with a surface of an adjoining anchor body, allowing an end of a tube with a suitably shaped end portion to cover that face of the support body. A U-shaped aperture with a slanted through passage are provided at a junction of at least one anchor body with the support body. This allows a tool to be inserted into the connector to fix a final tube to the connector.
