摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing an optical laminate in which an alignment defect is less likely to occur in a light-absorbing anisotropic layer even in a case where a surface of a photo-alignment layer is rubbed; an optical laminate; and an image display device. The method for manufacturing an optical laminate according to an embodiment of the present invention is a method for manufacturing an optical laminate in which an optical laminate including a photo-alignment layer and a light-absorbing anisotropic layer and having a front transmittance of 60% or less is produced and which includes a photo-alignment layer formation step of forming a photo-alignment layer on a polymer film, and a light-absorbing anisotropic layer formation step of applying a liquid crystal composition containing a dichroic substance and a high-molecular liquid crystalline compound onto the photo-alignment layer to form a light-absorbing anisotropic layer.

The fragment marked NLE containing the Core1 with at least one R1 has a nonlinear effect of polarization. Core2 is an electro-conductive oligomer self-assembling by pi-pi stacking in a column-like supramolecule, n is number of Core2 which is equal to 2, or 4, R3 is a substituent comprising one or more ionic groups, s is number of R3 which is equal to 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4. R4 is a non-polar resistive substituent, k is a number of R4 which is equal to 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8.

摘要: A method for producing a photostable reactive mesogen alignment layer includes infusing an anisotropic dye into a microcavity so as to coat the an surface of the microcavity with the anisotropic dye; illuminating the anisotropic dye with polarized light so as to form an anisotropic dye layer aligned with respect to the inner surface of the microcavity; infusing a reactive mesogen and the liquid crystal material into the microcavity; illuminating the reactive mesogen at a wavelength selected to cause polymerization of the layer of the reactive mesogen so as to form a polymerized reactive mesogen layer; aligning the liquid crystal material with respect to the anisotropic dye layer; and bleaching the anisotropic dye layer.
