    Abstract: Provided is an organic EL display device including an optical laminate, and a foldable device formed of the organic EL display device. The optical laminate includes a glass plate, a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, a polarizer layer, a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and an optically anisotropic layer in this order, in which the glass plate has a thickness of less than 100 μm, the polarizing layer is formed of a composition for forming a polarizing layer which contains a liquid crystal compound and an organic dichroic material, a distance A between the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and the polarizer layer is 10 μm or less, and a distance B between the polarizer layer and the second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is 10 μm or less.

    Abstract: The present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device which is capable of suppressing reflected glare of a display screen on a windshield and the like, has excellent front contrast, and has excellent visibility of a display screen as viewed via polarized sunglasses. A liquid crystal display device includes, in order from a viewing side, a viewing side polarizer, a liquid crystal cell, a non-viewing side polarizer, and an anisotropic light absorption layer having an absorption axis in a thickness direction. The liquid crystal display device further includes at least one polarization control layer, in which the polarization control layer is arranged on a viewing side of the viewing side polarizer or on a non-viewing side of the non-viewing side polarizer.

    Abstract: An optical film, including a polarizing plate, and an image display device. The optical film includes, in the following order, a base material, an alignment film, and a liquid crystal layer, in which the alignment film contains at least one specific compound selected from the group consisting of a polymerizable macromolecule having a polymerizable group in a side chain and a polymer thereof, and a secondary ion intensity derived from the specific compound in the alignment film is measured by a time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry while irradiating the alignment film with an ion beam from a surface on a liquid crystal layer side toward a surface on abase material side, a maximum value of the secondary ion intensity derived from the specific compound is present in a region from the surface of the base material to a 100 nm thickness position.

    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a light-absorbing anisotropic film having an excellent degree of alignment of a dichroic azo coloring agent; an optical laminate including the same; and an image display device using the same. The light-absorbing anisotropic film according to an embodiment of the present invention is a light-absorbing anisotropic film which is formed of a liquid crystal composition containing a dichroic azo coloring agent compound, a liquid crystalline compound, and a compound represented by Formula (1) and has a front transmittance of 60% or less, and in which a content mass ratio of the dichroic azo coloring agent compound to the liquid crystalline compound is 5% to 35% by mass.
