Abstract:
Unsaturated polyesters of defined composition with a low content of polyalkylene glycol radicals in a narrow molecular weight range can be dispersed in water without external emulsifiers. These dispersions produce, after hardening, water and chemical resistant coatings with good mechanical properties.
Abstract:
The subject matter of the instant invention is formed by U-shaped, solderless, non-screwed and stripping-free, LSA-PLUS terminals (2, 2a) adapted to be tandem-mounted in longitudinal direction in a terminal strip (1). The terminals are disposed at a relative offset of 180.degree. so that two respective adjacent U-shaped terminals (2, 2a), when viewed from the top, form generally an either X-shape (3) or an O-shape (4).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wire connector for the incoming and outgoing wires of a telecommunications cable, in which the connector body (3) comprises a cover portion (1) and a bottom portion (2). For the termination of two wires (4) there is fixedly mounted a solderless, non-screwed, strip-free terminal (5) having a polytropic air gap, a resilient tab (7) having a crimped portion (6) being integrally formed at one end of said terminal (5) and the contact arms (5a) of said terminal (5) being offset relative to the cable axis at an angle of about 45 degrees. The bottom portion (2) of the connector body (3) is provided with either tubular or channel-like guide means (8, 8a) and clamping ribs (9), a cutting blade (10) for separating the cable wires being also inserted. The cover portion (1) is formed with an aperture (11) for insertion of a test prod (12).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tool for the wiring of terminal elements which permits a plurality of separate operations such as connecting and withdrawing of a wire to and from a terminal element, respectively, and severing of the wire, to be carried out, and which may be manufactured at low cost because of its simple structure. To this end the tool comprises a bipartite plastic grip member (3) accommodating a ram (2) and a striker mechanism. On a protruding ram head (2a) there is provided a wire cutter (6) which may be actuated through a pin-and-slot guide (5, 6c) during a connecting operation. Locking means function to releasably connect the ram (2) to a slider (8) accommodated within the grip member (3) so as to be longitudinally movable.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an air separator having a rotor provided with feed passages for the material to be separated which extend radially outward and between which extraction openings are arranged. The space between adjacent feed passages which exists between the outer end of the feed passages and the extraction openings is axially delimited on at least one side by a stationary element forming part of an extraction housing. In this way, problems of wear in the outer region of the rotor are reduced. In addition, there is no longer any need for an exact sealing gap to be maintained between the rotor and the extraction housing. Finally, the free flow cross-section for the separation air is increased for the same overall dimensions of the separator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a structure including a cleat connector for providing an electrical connection between an insulated wire and a bifurcated terminal element of electrically conductive resilient material. The terminal element includes a pair of leaf-spring contact arms lying in a plane and defined by a centrally located slot therein having sharp edges and adjoining an enlarged entry opening. The width of the slot is less than the diameter of the metallic conductor of the wire so that when the wire is pressed into the slot, the wire insulation is cut through, and an electrical connection is established between the wire conductor and the terminal element. A clamping element is associated with the terminal element for gripping the insulated wire.
Abstract:
A casting alloy consisting essentially of 20 to 40% chromium, 2 to 12% molybdenum, up to 2% silicon, up to 5% manganese, up to 1% carbon, 0.1 to 1% nitrogen, and the remainder cobalt and the usual impurities inherent to the manufacturing process. The alloy is subjected to a heat treatment to homogenize the lattice of the alloy, and thereafter the alloy is rapidly quenched in order to prevent reformation of deposits in the lattice.
Abstract:
A protection arrangement for an inverter having fuses connected in series with its d-c inputs is disclosed. In particular, in one form of the arrangement, an electronic voltage monitoring device is provided for monitoring the input d-c voltage to the inverter at the connection points of the inverter inputs and the fuses. If the voltage monitored by the monitoring device falls below a predetermined level, the monitoring device delivers a protection signal to the control unit of the inverter directing the latter to release firing pulses for extinguishing the valves in the valves branches of the inverter. In another form of the arrangement, the voltage monitoring device monitors the voltage across each of the fuses at the d-c inputs of the inverter, and, if a monitored voltage exceeds a predetermined value, delivers a protection signal to the control unit of the inverter.Additionally, where the inverter being protected is included in a cycloconverter, provision is made for ensuring that a protection signal is not delivered before sufficient time has elapsed for the intermediate d-c link voltage of the converter to reach a predetermined value.
