Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a message that indicates a plurality of subsets within a set of random access occasions. Each subset of the plurality of subsets may be associated with a corresponding beam of a plurality of beams, and each corresponding beam may be different from remaining beams of the plurality of beams. Accordingly, the UE may transmit, to the base station and based at least in part on the message, at least one random access preamble. The at least one random access preamble is transmitted within one or more subsets, of the plurality of subsets, using one or more corresponding beams of the plurality of beams. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: An apparatus, e.g., a UE, for transmission of information modulated onto RSs using index modulation is disclosed. The UE may receive, from a base station, a configuration of one or more RS resources of an RS resource set. The one or more RS resources may be associated with an index modulation technique including a plurality of UL or DL information bits. The UE may transmit, to the base station, or receive, from the base station, the plurality of UL or DL information bits. The plurality of UL or DL information bits may include at least one of one or more first bits or one or more second bits. At least one of the one or more RS resources may be selected based on at least one of the one or more first bits or the one or more second bits.

In one aspect, a UE may receive, from a base station, RMSI indicating beam-specific system information in association with one or more SSB beams for receiving an SSB. Then, the UE may receive the SSB from the base station based on the received RMSI indicating the beam-specific system information.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to selections of a channel state information (CSI) report setting option by a distinct demodulation reference signal (DMRS) pattern. Specifically, in one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine a CSI transmission setting based on the at least one measurement of the communication channel, the CSI transmission setting is associated with a distinct DMRS pattern, and transmit a CSI report with the distinct DMRS pattern to the network entity in accordance with the CSI transmission setting. In another aspect, a network entity may transmit CSI setting configuration information to a UE, the CSI setting configuration information including at least one parameter corresponding to a channel measurement threshold that triggers selection of a distinct DMRS pattern based on a CSI transmission setting, and receive a CSI report and the distinct DMRS pattern from the UE associated with the CSI transmission setting.

Abstract: An apparatus may be configured to determine that a first random access channel (RACH) procedure with a base station is unsuccessful. The apparatus may be further configured to transmit, after determining that the first RACH procedure is unsuccessful, a preamble message for a second RACH procedure with the base station. A second configuration for the second RACH procedure may be different from a first configuration for the first RACH procedure. Another apparatus may be configured to receive a preamble message from a UE for a second RACH procedure having a second configuration different from a first configuration for a first RACH procedure. The other apparatus may be further configured to determine that the first RACH procedure with the UE is unsuccessful.
