    摘要： An umbrella has a mechanism for latching and releasing a slider (8) which tuates the umbrella canopy framework as it slides to and fro along a stick (12). The slider is fixed in the closed position by means of a latching bolt (18) which is mounted in a handle (1) and has a latching nose engaging in a notch (8b) in a guide sleeve (8c) of the slider. The slider is released by pressing a button (15) which causes the bolt (18) to slide transversely to the axis (X) of the stick against the action of a spring (17).

    摘要： The frame of a self-opening umbrella has a hollow shaft, a handle on one end of the shaft and a first ring fixed on the other end. A second ring slides along the shaft toward and away from the first ring and is biased away from the first ring by a helical compression spring in the shaft. A third ring slides on the shaft between the second ring and the handle. A first set of long ribs, normally carrying the cloth canopy of the umbrella, is pivoted to the first ring, and shorter second and third ribs are respectively pivoted to the second and third rings and connected to a common hinge on an associated first rib. The spring tends to open the umbrella, and the umbrella may be closed manually by pulling the third ring toward the handle and locking it in its umbrella closing position.

    摘要： A self-opening umbrella utilizing tension springs for selfopening operation is disclosed and comprises a rod or stick with a crown secured on the top thereof, a plurality of roof ribs having their respective base ends thereof pivotably mounted to the periphery of the crown, a slider member roof rib, each slider member being slidable along its associated roof rib, a lower sliding sleeve slidably mounted around the rod or stick and including connection means for connecting the end of an associated tension spring, an upper sliding sleeve slidably mounted around the rod or stick and above the lower sliding sleeve, a brace member associated with each roof rib and pivotably connected at one end thereof to the slider member and having its otherwise free end pivotably connected to the upper sliding sleeve, and an axial compression spring disposed between the upper sliding sleeve and the connection means of the lower sliding member, the tension spring being connected at its otherwise free end to an associated brace and at a point near the associated slider member, whereby maintaining the umbrella in an open condition is attained utilizing little force and, hence, the force necessary for closing the umbrella is reduced.
