摘要： An electronic umbrella is provided. The device includes a housing having a fastener disposed on a lower surface thereof. A motor is disposed within the housing, wherein the motor is operably connected to a power source disposed within the housing. A rod is affixed to an upper surface of the housing. An extendable arm is affixed to the rod, wherein the extendable arm is operably connected to the motor. Upon actuation of the motor, the extendable arm moves between an extended position and a retracted position. The device further includes an umbrella assembly having a central support, a plurality of ribs extending from the central support, and a canopy affixed over the plurality of ribs. The central support is pivotally affixed to a distal end of the extendable arm.

The central axis structure can be connected to a skeletal frame structure comprising a plurality of arms having a first end connected to the central axis structure and a second free end. The plurality of arms can be moveably connected to the central axis structure, such that the arms can be retracted into or extended from the base body structure. In some embodiments, the base body structure comprises open portions along its length. In some embodiments, the retractable umbrella frame devices further comprise one or more secondary support structures at least partially surrounding the base body structure. In some embodiments, the retractable umbrella frame devices can further comprise guide structures connected to the one or more secondary support structures and the arms of the skeletal frame structure.

A first processor communicates commands and/or signals to the umbrella support assembly to cause movement of the umbrella support assembly. A second processor, of the computing device, is enclosed within the intelligent shading object fetches computer-readable instructions from the non-volatile memory, loads the computer-readable instructions from the non-volatile memory into the second memory, and executes the computer-readable instructions to communicate with external computing devices and/or to generate commands and/or signals to the first processor to request movements of the umbrella shading assembly.

摘要： An umbrella has a canopy, a main shaft and a plurality of ribs pivotally attached to the main shaft, each rib being of adjustable length and including a pair of outer rib elements, wherein the outer rib elements are flexible and normally adopt a straight configuration aligned with the main shaft in a closed position of the umbrella, and in an open position of the umbrella, flex so that outer ends of the outer rib elements extend generally circumferentially with respect to the canopy. The umbrella can have ribs that would normally be of one piece, in which case accommodation is made for an effective change in the radius of the ribs as the outer rib elements flex. The umbrella may be a folding umbrella with two part ribs. The outer ribs can have a non-uniform cross-section and may taper.

A pin retention recess is disposed on each side of the opposed walls in one of the cover and the base. A plurality of projections are provided that each have a first end fixed to one of the cover and the base in which the pin retention recess is not formed and a second end disposed away from the fixed end. One of the projections is configured to enclose a portion of the retention recess when the cover and the base are secured together.
