摘要： This is a novel swivel joint for connecting two fluid conveying conduits. It includes an inner cylinder connected to one conduit and an outer cylinder connected to the other conduit. 摘要： A fueling system includes a hydrant coupling and a filler-neck coupling which can respectively be connected to a supply line and a tank which is to be refueled or emptied without the need of using hoses. The filler-neck coupling can have any desired orientation in space without handling difficulties, and the fueling system has nominal diameters of 4" or more and thus permits quick fueling. The system includes a center and two outer pipe sections connected by two pairs of swivel joints. The center pipe section is carried at its ends by carriages and has bent ends which each have thereon a respective swivel joint of each pair, the swivel joints of each pair having perpendicular axes. The outer pipe sections are also carried by carriages and each have at the outer end thereof an end swivel joint with an axis perpendicular to the associated outer pipe section. One of the end swivel joints is connected to a hydrant coupling arrangement and the other to a head piece which includes the filler-neck coupling.

摘要： A fluid swivel is described, which is especially useful for carrying hydrocarbons at high pressures between stationary and rotating walls of a swivel. The swivel forms a fluid-carrying annular chamber and a pair of gap-like passages lying between the walls and extending from opposite sides of the chamber to the environment, with primary and secondary face seals located along each passage. Each passage includes a portion extending between the seals, the passage portion forming a pair of largely radially-extending wall surfaces, one on the outer wall and one on the inner wall. The radially-extending wall surface on the outer wall faces in a first axial direction, and the outer wall at the secondary seal faces in an opposite axial direction. As a result, if the primary seal should fail, this will not change the axial force on the outer wall. The extrusion gaps at the seals extend in radial directions from the seal, so these gaps do not widen when high pressure is applied to the fluid swivel.

摘要： A connector unit for a number of different coupling applications such as for interconnecting a pair of pipes or other structural parts which must be mounted near each other and at an angle with respect to each other. The connector unit includes a pair of side members which are spaced apart and to which are mounted the structural parts to be interconnected. Each side member has a respective ring rotatably mounted thereon by a first set of balls, and the two rings are rotatably coupled to each other by a second set of balls. Each set of balls is in an annular race formed by a pair of mating grooves. The balls of each set are fed into a respective race through a hole in the respective ring, then the hole is plugged to keep the balls in place. The race between the two rings is inclined at an angle relative to the race between each side member and the respective ring. Thus, rotation of one ring relative to the other ring will cause a change in the angular orientation of the side members relative to each other without rotating the side members relative to each other and without allowing one side member to move toward or away from each other. A pair of gears can be provided to rotate each ring relative to its corresponding side member.

摘要： An improved ladder base swivel with a through water channel is provided wherein an annular seal preventing passage of liquid from a cylindrical bore to the exterior of a rotatably-received mating bore is provided with a lubricant. A lubricant reservoir channel which communicates with the seal supplies lubricant to the seal to prevent the seal from drying and cracking and to minimize wearing of the seal. The reservoir also communicates with an external opening which is normally plugged, thereby serving as a water escape channel upon seal failure. Continuous hydraulic and electric circuits are provided between the rotating elements of the swivel.
