The method includes determining chroma weights used for determining a chroma prediction block of a chroma block of a current block of a video by blending predictions of the chroma block according to a rule, and performing a conversion between the current block and a coded representation of the video according to the determining, wherein the rule specifies that the chroma weights are determined from luma weights of a collocated luma block of the current block; wherein the current block is coded with a geometric partitioning mode.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for coefficient scaling for high-precision image and video coding are described. A example method of video processing includes performing a conversion between a current block of a video and a bitstream representation of the video according to a rule, wherein the rule specifies that the conversion includes during encoding, skipping applying a forward transform to residual coefficients of the current block prior to including in the bitstream representation, or during decoding, reconstructing residual coefficients of the current block from the bitstream representation without applying an inverse transform, and wherein the rule further specifies that a scale factor is applied to the residual coefficients independent of a size of the current block.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems related to video processing are disclosed. In one example aspect, a method of video processing includes performing a conversion between a block of a current picture of a video and a coded representation of the video using an intra-subblock partitioning (ISP) mode. A prediction is determined for each sub-partition using an intra-prediction process based on samples in the current picture using the ISP mode. The block is partitioned into multiple sub-partitions including a first sub-partitions having a same top-left corner position as a top-left corner position of the block.

Only one of a sub-picture coding mode or a resolution-changing coding mode is enabled for the video unit. The sub-picture coding mode is a mode in which the video picture is divided into multiple sub-pictures, and the resolution-changing coding mode is a mode in which a resolution of the video picture is adjusted during the conversion.

Abstract: A method for visual media processing includes processing a bitstream representation for a conversion between a current video block in a video region of a visual media data and the bitstream representation. The bitstream representation is based on a rule that specifies that one or more syntax elements used in a luma-dependent chroma residual scaling step are selectively included in the bitstream representation. The luma-dependent chroma residual scaling step includes scaling chroma samples based on neighboring reconstructed luma samples during the conversion. The one or more syntax elements are usable to derive a chroma residual scaling factor used for the scaling.
