Abstract: In an aspect, the present disclosure includes a method, apparatus, and computer readable medium for wireless communications for receiving, by a relay user equipment (UE) from a remote UE, a remote UE radio resource control (RRC) message for establishing a relayed communication between the remote UE and a network entity via the relay UE; determining, by the relay UE, remote UE information associated with the remote UE for establishing a remote UE communication context between the relay UE and the network entity based on the remote UE RRC message; and transmitting, by the relay UE to the network entity, the remote UE RRC message and the remote UE information.

Abstract: A configuration to enable a UE to monitor the state of the connection with a peer UE in a sidelink communication. The apparatus establishes one or more unicast links with a second UE. The apparatus changes a connection state with the second UE from a sidelink disconnected state to a sidelink connected state based on an establishment of a first of the one or more unicast links. The apparatus changes the connection state with the second UE from the sidelink connected state to the sidelink disconnected state when each of the one or more unicast links with the second UE is released or when a configured timer expires.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for proximity service (ProSe) authorization and provisioning. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to support ProSe communication and may indicate this capability to a radio access network (RAN) and a core network during registration of the UE. Based on the ProSe indication, the RAN may select an access and mobility management function (AMF) that supports ProSe authorization and policy provisioning and forward a registration request indicating the UE supports ProSe communication to the selected AMF. Upon authorizing the UE for ProSe operation, the AMF may transmit a registration accept message including a ProSe supported indication to the UE. The UE may then initiate a ProSe session with another UE based on the ProSe supported indication in the registration accept message.

The MN and the SN may provide dual connectivity with a core network for a user equipment. The MN may provide an address indication message to the SN. The address indication message may include MN downlink transport network layer (TNL) information for an SN terminated data radio bearer (DRB) that requires master cell group (MCG) resources. The address indication message may be provided in a first message that immediately follows the acknowledgment message. In some aspects, the SN may receive the address indication message, and may forward, based at least in part on the MN downlink TNL information, downlink data for the SN terminated DRB that requires MCG resources. Abstract: Methods for performing a handover in wireless communications for a user plane function (UPF) are disclosed. In an aspect, the method includes establishing a tunnel between the UPF and a target base station based on information in a path switch preparation request for a make before break handover of a user equipment (UE) from a source base station to the target base station, the path switch preparation request being received in response to a request originating by the target base station. The method further includes bi-casting a downlink data packet unit (PDU) to a source base station and to the target base station with a same sequence number (SN) in a tunnel protocol, receiving PDUs from the source base station and the target base station with corresponding PDUs having the same SNs in the tunnel protocol and discarding received duplicate PDUs based on the SNs in the tunnel protocol.
