Abstract:
A spherical annular seal having a through hole in a center thereof and a partially convex spherical surface portion on an outer surface thereof, wherein a surface of the partially convex spherical surface portion is formed into a smooth surface in which a lubricating sliding layer of a lubricating composition containing 70 to 90 wt. % of boron nitride and 10 to 30 wt. % of alumina and/or silica and a reinforcing material constituted by a metal wire net covering the lubricating sliding layer and integrated with the lubricating sliding layer are integrated in mixed form.
Abstract:
A process for preparing pitch for matrix wherein an optically isotropic pitch is formed into a fibrous pitch, and the fibrous pitch thus obtained is nitrated with a nitration reagent in the presence of an acid catalyst. The resulting pitch can be carbonized with a low energy, is high in carbonization yield, low in softening point and excellent in moldability and impregnability.
Abstract:
In the simulator for shooting down the rapids in accordance with the present invention, a platform is installed on one side of a water channel in which a boat moves, and a theater zone is installed on the other side. In the theater zone, a boat swaying device and a wind generating device are installed, and these devices are successively operated in synchronization with the picture projected on a screen in the theater zone by a projector. Also, according to the present invention, three spherical seats are arranged in an isosceles triangle form under the boat moving in the water channel, and three vertically movable swaying rods are installed under the water channel in the theater zone at the positions corresponding to the spherical seats.
Abstract:
A sound-absorption material for an automobile includes a damping material, a sound-absorption material and a surface material. The damping, sound-absorption and surface materials are integrated together. The damping material includes a moldable plastic constraining material and an adhesive damping sheet containing a petroleum resin. The sound-proof material is integrally attachable to an automotive sheet material such as a dashboard.
Abstract:
A roof lining structure in a motor vehicle includes a roof lining base member and a vibration-damping layer interposed between an upper surface of the base member and a lower surface of a roof panel of the motor vehicle. The roof lining base member comprises a support layer having a cellular structure, and a reinforcing layer disposed at least partly in the roof lining base member. The upper surface of the vibration-damping layer is held in intimate contact with the lower surface of the roof panel. The vibration-damping layer is bonded to the roof panel by an adhesive layer. The vibration-damping layer is made of a material having such a mechanical strength that the vibration-damping layer will be torn apart vertically with a tearing force weaker than the bonding strength of the adhesive layer.
Abstract:
In a magneto-optical recording element comprising a substrate, a magnetic layer and a dielectric layer, the dielectric layer is formed by deposition of a composition comprising Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 and a refractive index-improving agent such as Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 or Y.sub.2 O.sub.3. This dielectric layer has a high refractive index and the enhancement effect is improved. Moreover, this dielectric layer is excellent in the adhesion and resistance characteristics.
Abstract:
A positioning apparatus for positioning an arm of an industrial robot comprises a frame member connected to the robot arm and being movably supported by a frame-supporting member. The frame-supporting member is movably mounted within an upstanding hollow sleeve of a stationary base, and a bearing is formed between an outer peripheral surface portion of the frame-supporting member and an inner peripheral surface portion of the base hollow sleeve portion for slidably mounting the frame-supporting member to undergo linear and angular sliding movements relative to the base hollow sleeve portion. A rotary motor effects angular driving movement of the frame-supporting member, and a linear motor effects linear movement of the frame-supporting member to thereby accurately position the robot arm. By such a construction, the frame-supporting member is mounted for angular and linear sliding movements relative to the base hollow sleeve portion by a single bearing.
Abstract:
An apparatus for continuously stretching dough for cakes, bread and the like, comprising a plurality of rollers progressing along a closed orbit comprising a lower straight portion, a plurality of conveyor belts positioned thereunder, with the upper flights of said conveyor belts being spaced apart from each other.
