Abstract: A connector comprises a connector body having a mating interface configured to engage a complementary mating connector, a first indicator feature carried by the connector body, the first indicator feature having a first partial visual identifier disposed thereon, and a second indicator feature carried by the connector body having a second partial visual identifier disposed thereon, wherein the first and second indicator features are movable relative to each other between a separated position and a joined position, characterized in that the first and second indicator feature form a complete visual identifier only when in the joined position, wherein the first and second indicator features are in the separated position when the connector body is not fully mated relative to the mating connector, and wherein the first and second indicator features are in the joined position responsive to the connector body being fully mated to the mating connector.

Abstract: The techniques of this disclosure relate to a system for modifying access to a communication device. The system includes a controller circuit configured to receive first-feature data generated by a first detector configured to detect identifying features of a driver of a vehicle. The controller circuit is also configured to receive second-feature data generated by a second detector configured to detect identifying features of a user of a communication device. The controller circuit is also configured to determine whether an identifying feature from the first-feature data matches a corresponding identifying feature from the second-feature data. The controller circuit is also configured to modify access to one or more functions of the communication device based on the determination. The system can reduce instances of driver distraction caused by the driver attempting to use the communication device.

Abstract: A two-step optimization method for scheduling transmissions in an MIMO (multi-input multi-output) includes determining a first phase code for each transmission according to a first equation, placing each first phase code in a set of first phase codes, and determining a cost function of the set of first phase codes, determining a second phase code for each transmission according to a second equation, determining an updated cost function corresponding to replacing each of the first phase codes with a corresponding one of the second phase codes, and determining which set of phase codes has a smaller cost function.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a connector housing containing an electrical terminal and a mating connector housing containing a mating electrical terminal. The mating connector housing defines a connector shroud configured to receive the connector housing. The electrical connector assembly further includes a terminal stabilizer defining a terminal aperture surrounding the a electrical terminal and disposed within the connector shroud. The connector housing pushes the terminal stabilizer from a first position near a tip of the mating electrical terminal to a second position near a base of mating electrical terminal as electrical terminal is mated with the mating electrical terminal. The connector housing pulls the terminal stabilizer from the second position to the first position as the terminal is unmated from the mating electrical terminal.

Abstract: The techniques of this disclosure relate to a vehicle-occupancy alert system. The system includes a controller circuit configured to receive occupant data from an occupancy-monitoring sensor configured to detect a presence of one or more objects inside a vehicle. The controller circuit is also configured to determine whether an operator of the vehicle has exited the vehicle based on the occupant data. The controller circuit is also configured to determine based on the occupant data that the one or more objects remain inside the vehicle for a time exceeding a first threshold after the operator has exited. The controller circuit is also configured to output an alert indicating the one or more objects remain inside the vehicle when the time exceeds the first threshold. The system can improve passenger safety by alerting the vehicle operator that a child remains in the vehicle unattended before the operator moves away from the vehicle.

Abstract: The pinch detector includes a torque estimator that estimates a motor torque from current values of physical quantities of the motor including a motor voltage, a motor current and a motor speed, using coefficients of an approximation function that calculates an energy conversion efficiency of the motor as a function of the motor torque; a converter that calculates a first estimation of a pinch force exerted by the opening and closing member on a pinched object by converting the estimated motor torque into an estimated pinch force using a torque to force conversion coefficient; a comparator that compares the estimated pinch force with a predetermined force limit in order to detect a pinch based on the comparison result.

Abstract: An automotive radar system for detecting target objects in a traffic scene comprises an arrangement of transmit antennas, an arrangement of receive antennas, and a radar circuit connected to the transmit antennas and the receive antennas. Each transmit antenna is configured to transmit coherent superpositions of respective first transmit radar signals having first transmit polarizations and respective second transmit radar signals having second transmit polarizations. Each receive antenna is configured to separate target reflections of the transmitted radar signals received from the target objects into first signal portions having first receive polarizations and into second signal portions having second receive polarizations. The radar circuit is configured to vary resulting transmit polarizations of the transmitted superpositions of transmit radar signals and to coherently evaluate the first and second signal portions received by the individual receive antennas to determine polarization properties of the received target reflections.
