Abstract: A power tool is provided that, in one version, includes a front housing that supports an output drive, and a back cap located opposite the front housing. The back cap receives at least one fastener of the plurality of fasteners. A motor housing supports a motor and is located between the front housing and the back cap. The motor includes a rotor that is configured to rotate about a motor axis to drive rotation of the output drive. The fastener is disposed through the back cap, and secures to the front housing coupling the front housing, the motor housing, and the back cap together.

Abstract: A filter system can include a replaceable filter cartridge having a spinner element structured to swirl a mixed flow of compressible fluid and oil, as well as an end cap used to enclose an open interior of a filter media of the filter cartridge. The filter cartridge can be configured to interface with and be supported by a mesh holder. A housing can be attached over the filter cartridge to enclose the system and create a flow path for a mixed flow of compressible fluid and oil. The replaceable filter cartridge can be constructed of materials suitable for disposal in a waste incineration process. The mesh holder can be inserted on a combo-block and secured in place by a compression fitting. A stand pipe can extend into the interior of the filter media and be coupled with a central passage of the mesh holder.

Abstract: A power tool comprises an adjustable auxiliary handle assembly that facilities safe use of the tool by the operator when handling heavy duty handheld machinery. The adjustable auxiliary handle assembly comprises a strap, a handle base, an over-center linkage assembly, a locking lever, a locking lever and an adjustable knob. The strap is easily released and able to rotate and be locked in a different position convenient and comfortable to the operator. The auxiliary handle assembly is adjustable and can be operated with one hand (e.g., one-handed operation). The over-center linkage assembly holds the auxiliary handle position in place while allowing the power tool to be used in high-torque/high load applications.

Abstract: A control system for a compressed air system is configured to implement an “away mode” of operation that provides for a temporary override of the operation of the compressed air system, which can be easily enabled and disabled. During a period of down time, when the away mode of operation is enabled, the control system causes the compressed air system to operate in a limited capacity (e.g., maintaining limited system pressure, flow, higher dewpoint/humidity level, etc.) to minimize energy usage and limit unnecessary wear on system equipment without shutting down the compressed air system.

Abstract: A hydrodynamic bearing in the form of a flex pad bearing includes configurations structured to change a bearing characteristic. One form of the bearing includes a nonlinear back wall that includes a circular arc and a transition, where the back wall extends radially outward of a ligament. Abstract: A cooling assembly for a power tool includes an air mover configured to be disposed within a housing assembly at a first end of a generally longitudinal enclosure proximate to a handle enclosure. The air mover is configured to direct air into the housing assembly and then generally perpendicularly to a longitudinally extending direction of the generally longitudinal enclosure. The cooling assembly also includes a duct configured to connect to the air mover and be in fluid communication with the air mover to direct air into the handle enclosure. The duct includes an inflow segment defining a first area for receiving the air from the air mover, an outflow segment defining a second area for directing the air from the air mover into the handle enclosure, and a connecting segment connecting the inflow segment to the outflow segment.

Abstract: A compressed air drying system is provided for removing moisture from compressed air. The system includes multiple air dryers that each remove moisture from a portion of the compressed air. The air dryers share a reservoir of liquid coolant that is used to cool the compressed air in each of the drying units. The reservoir has inlets for each of the drying units for the liquid coolant to return from the respective unit to the reservoir. The inlets are arranged in the reservoir to mix the incoming liquid coolant from the inlets to ensure that warm coolant from one of the inlets does not flow directly to an outlet of the reservoir.
