Abstract: A device for filtering air, a rigid component comprising a transparent face shield, a fabric component, wherein the fabric component and the rigid component combine to cover an entire head of a user and form a seal around the user's neck, an intake port, an intake filter that filters intake air passing through the inlet port, an exhaust port, an exhaust filter that filters exhaust air passing through the outlet port, an air mover positioned to pull air through the exhaust port, whereby intake air is drawn into the device through the inlet port and whereby the intake air and exhaust air is filtered.

Abstract: A device for covering the head of a user comprising a rigid component comprising a transparent face shield and an air port, a fabric component, wherein the rigid component and the fabric component combine to cover the head of the user and seal around the neck of the user, and an air mover mounted on the rigid component so as to cause air to move either into or out of the air port, a filter that filters air moving through the air port, wherein at least a portion of the fabric component allows air to either move into the device if the air mover moves air out of the air port or move out of the device if the air mover moves air into the air port, and wherein the at least a portion of the fabric allows air to move into or out of the device also filters the air moving into or out of the device.

Abstract: An overhead door opener for opening and closing an overhead door is disclosed.
A motor is coupled to a shaft and is configured to rotate the shaft to raise and lower the overhead door. The shaft is coupled to the overhead door. The overhead door opener also includes a one-way bearing coupling the motor to the shaft, wherein the one-way bearing is configured to transmit torque from the motor to the shaft, and not to transmit torque from the shaft to the motor.-

Abstract: A system for operating an overhead door using a battery and a low voltage power supply are disclosed. A battery is connected to a standard power outlet and charges from a power adaptor that converts the power down to a reduced voltage and provides the reduced power to the battery. The battery provides the principal power required to operate the overhead door opener. With the preferred embodiment, there is no need for an additional, higher-rated outlet near the overhead door opener, or a long high-voltage cable in the garage.

Abstract: Methods and systems for conducting batch multi-effect distillation are disclosed. A multi-effect distillation system and one or more isolation devices are provided. A feed stream, consisting of water and a solute, is passed from a feed source into a brine side of the plurality of heat exchangers. The feed source is isolated from the plurality of heat exchangers by closing the one or more isolation devices. A first of the plurality of heat exchangers is heated by the heat source. A steam stream and a brine concentrate stream are produced in all but a last of the plurality of heat exchangers. A condensate stream from the steam stream is produced in all but the first of the plurality of heat exchangers. A warmed feed stream is produced in the last of the plurality of heat exchangers.

Abstract: The invention is a heating and display mirror. The mirror is composed of two different “zones”, one for heating and one for display. The heating zone is heated by radiant heat, and the display zone features a display device that produces lighted images visible on the mirror's surface. The heating and display zones are operated by user controls, which give instructions to the heating zone to turn on and off, and to the display zone regarding what images to display on the lighted display device.

Abstract: The invention is a kit for attaching to a truck cap to enable the cap to be lifted off of and lowered onto a truck by lines from above. The kit includes: a first rail and a second rail, each configured to attach to the truck cap; a first pair of sliding masts for releasably attaching to the first rail and a second pair of sliding masts for releasably attaching to the second rail. Each of the sliding mast includes: a sled which is captured by the rail, and is slidable along the rail, and is adapted to be secured at various points along the rail; and a brace with one end attached to the sled and the other end adapted to receive one of the lines. In another aspect, the kit includes multiple lifting devices.

Abstract: A system for reversibly dividing a space is disclosed. A first panel consists of a first vertical member and a first horizontal member attached perpendicular to a bottom end of the first vertical member and extends away from the first vertical member towards a second panel. The second panel consists of a second vertical member and a second horizontal member attached perpendicular to a top end of the second vertical member and extends away from the second vertical member towards the first panel. The first and second panel can be stored in an overhead position. The space is reversibly divided when the first panel and the second panel are lowered. The first panel is lowered such that the first panel forms a top portion of a wall. The second panel is lowered until the second horizontal member rests on the first horizontal member, forming a bottom portion of the wall.
