    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a user equipment (UE) may receive one or more reference signals from a base station. In some examples, the UE may receive the one or more reference signals over a channel for communications between the UE and the base station. The UE may measure a response of the channel based on the one or more reference signals received over the channel. In some examples, the UE may transmit a message indicating a set of channel coefficients. The set of channel coefficients may correspond to a two-dimensional (2D) model representative of the response. In some examples, the 2D model may include a spatial model and a time domain response of the channel.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a capability message indicating a capability supporting network-side phase noise compensation. The UE may transmit, to the base station, phase tracking reference signals based on transmitting the capability message. In an example, the phase tracking reference signals may include a UE phase noise component which may be associated with a local oscillator of the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, a compensated downlink transmission that is compensated based on the UE phase noise component. In generating the compensated downlink transmission, the base station may apply a multiplication factor associated with the estimated UE phase noise component to the compensated downlink transmission.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device such as a base station and a user equipment (UE), may segment a set of bits within a transport block into a first subset of bits including modulation bits and a second subset of bits including index modulation bits. The transmitting device may map the first subset of bits to a first set of subcarriers, the second subset of bits to a second set of subcarriers, and an additional set of bits to a third set of subcarriers. The transmitting device may generate a signal according to a boosting factor based on mapping the first subset of bits, the second subset of bits, and the additional set of bits, and transmit the generated signal to a receiving device.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for a retransmission protocol that utilizes compressed feedback. Various implementations relate generally to a compressed feedback technique for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ). Upon receiving a compressed feedback value, a sending device may generate a retransmission codeblock. The retransmission codeblock may be derived from multiple codeblocks in a set of codeblocks. A receiving device can use the retransmission codeblock to obtain any failed codeblock in the set of codeblocks based on all other previously decoded codeblocks in the set of codeblocks. Thus, the receiving device does not need to indicate which codeblock in the set failed, but only needs to send a compressed feedback value that indicates which sets of codeblocks have had a single codeblock failure.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for reducing PAPR in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to suppressing the amplitudes of a data signal that exceed a threshold amplitude level. The data signal may represent transmit (TX) data associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process. In some implementations, a transmitting device may detect one or more peaks associated with the data signal. The transmitting device may reduce the amplitudes of the samples associated with the detected peaks to produce the amplitude-suppressed data signal. The transmitting device may further generate peak suppression information indicating the amplitudes of one or more of the samples associated with the peaks. In response to receiving a NACK message, the transmitting device may transmit, to the receiving device, the peak suppression information, one or more coded bits representing the TX data (associated with the HARQ process), or any combination thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communications device may transmit a first signal. The first signal may be transmitted from a first antenna array of the communications device through a lens of the communications device in a direction. An energy of a portion of the first signal may be below a threshold based on a position of a second antenna array of the communications device. The portion of the first signal may correspond to a portion of a reflection of the first signal that overlaps with the position of the second antenna array. The communications device may concurrently receive, at the second antenna array, a second signal originating from another direction, where the second signal may be focused in the direction of the second antenna array based on the lens.
