Abstract: A device for processing video data includes a memory configured to store video data and one or more processors implemented in circuitry. The one or more processors are configured to select two or more subblocks of one or more blocks of video data and generate an affine motion model for a current block of video data using a subblock motion vector from each of the two or more subblocks as control-point motion vectors for the current block. The one or more processors are further configured to determine one or more prediction blocks based on the affine motion model and predict the current block with the one or more prediction blocks.

Abstract: A video encoder may encode a picture of video data using merge estimation regions (MERs). The video encoder may determine merge candidate lists in parallel for coding units within a MER. The video encoder may also partition the picture of video data into coding units according to a constraint, wherein the constraint specifies that the partitioning is constrained such that, for each MER containing one or more coding units, the one or more coding units are completely in the MER, and for each coding unit containing one or more MERs, the MERs are completely in the coding unit.

Abstract: An example device for decoding video data includes memory configured to store the video data and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and communicatively coupled to the memory. Based at least in part on the coding mode for the current block being the affine mode and PROF being enabled in the SPS for the current block, the one or more processors are configured to disable a deblocking filter for subblock boundaries of the current block and decode the current block with the deblocking filter disabled for the subblock boundaries of the current block.

Abstract: Techniques are described for decoding video data. A video decoder may determine chroma blocks in a chroma quantization group (QG) of the video data, determine a quantization parameter predictor that is the same for each of the chroma blocks of the chroma QG, determine an offset value that is the same for two or more of the chroma blocks of the chroma QG, determine a quantization parameter value for each of the two or more of the chroma blocks in the chroma QG based on the quantization parameter predictor and the offset value inverse quantize coefficients of one or more residual blocks for the chroma blocks based on the determined quantization parameter value, generate the one or more residual blocks based on the inverse quantized coefficients, and reconstruct the chroma blocks based on the one or more residual blocks.

Abstract: A video coder is configured to code video data using triangular partitions. The video coder may determine a size of a block of video data, and disable a partitioning mode that includes triangular prediction units based on the size of the block of video data, wherein disabling the partitioning mode that includes triangular prediction units removes the partitioning mode from available coding modes. For example, the video coder may disable the partitioning mode that includes triangular prediction units in the case that the width or the height of the block is larger than a threshold. The video coder may then code the block of video data with one or more of the available coding modes.

Abstract: This disclosure describes determining triangular prediction blocks for a current block partitioned in a triangle mode. A video coder may determine indices in a motion vector predictor list to identify motion vector predictors used to determine the triangular prediction block. If a first index value in the motion vector predictor list for a first triangular prediction block is less than a second index value in the motion vector predictor list for a second triangular prediction block, the signaled or received value for the second triangular prediction block may be the second index value reduced by an offset.
