    摘要: In one embodiment, a battery management system includes a charger controller for controlling a charging current of a battery according to a status of a load which is powered by the battery, and a counter coupled to the charger controller for determining a charging time according to such status. Advantageously, a first charging current is selected when the load is off. A second charging current that is less than the first charging current is selected when the load is on. Furthermore, a frequency of the counter is set to a first frequency when the load is off. The frequency is set to a second frequency that is less than the first frequency when the load is on.

    摘要: A power management system comprises a power conversion stage and a controller. The power conversion stage has two terminals. The first terminal is coupled to a first power source which provides a first voltage. The second terminal is selectively coupled to a second power source which provides a second voltage. The controller coupled to the power conversion stage can select a mode from at least a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the power conversion stage receives the first voltage at the first terminal and generates a step-up voltage at the second terminal. The generated step-up voltage is greater than the first voltage. In the second mode, the power conversion stage receives the second voltage at the second terminal and generates a step-down voltage at the first terminal for charging the first power source. The generated step-down voltage is less than the second voltage.

    摘要: The present invention provides a protection means for a driving circuit which drives a set of external electrode fluorescent lamps (EEFL). The driving circuit with protection function for driving a set of EEFLs consistent with the present invention includes: a transformer connected to the set of EEFLs; a switching network connected to the transformer which delivers power to the transformer; a sensing circuit connected to the set of EEFLs which detects disconnection if one light source is disconnected; and a controller connected to the switching network which controls the switching network to reduce the total current supplied to the EEFLs which remain connected, if the sensing circuit detects that one EEFL is disconnected. Appropriate protection can therefore be implemented when the EEFL is disconnected on one end or both ends.

    摘要: In a battery management controller, analog-to-digital conversion circuitry converts analog signals, indicative of a battery voltage, a battery current, and a battery temperature, to digital signals. A memory stores a remaining-capacity lookup table that includes multiple groups of data. Each group of data includes a voltage, a current, a temperature, and a parameter associated with a remaining capacity corresponding to the voltage, the current and the temperature. A processor searches the lookup table for a current parameter value and an end-of-discharge parameter value based on the digital signals, and determines a full available charge capacity of the battery based on the current parameter value and the end-of-discharge parameter value. The processor also counts the number of charges flowing through the battery based on a battery current. The processor further determines an available state of charge of the battery according to the full available charge capacity and the number of charges.
