Abstract:
Disclosed is a carbon dioxide indicator using chitosan and a food package comprising the same. The carbon dioxide indicator senses variation in partial pressure of carbon dioxide present in a head space of the package and thus visibly displays the result. The carbon dioxide indicator rapidly reacts at a specific critical point (pH 7.0) or less, thus being considerably highly sensitive.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to at least partially transparent compositions intended for human or animal use and to the packaging of such compositions. One embodiment of the present invention relates to an at least partially transparent container containing an at least partially transparent aqueous alcoholic composition. The container comprises at least one polarizer that makes liquid crystals present in the composition visible.
Abstract:
A lights and sounds mechanism for use in a toy is provided. The lights and sounds mechanism may be connected to a product test switch switch. One or more components of the toy may be disassembled for packaging. The disassembled components may include one or more lights or speakers. When the product test switch is triggered, the lights and/or speakers in the disassembled components may properly function.
Abstract:
A packaged article comprising in combination the article retained within packing having at least a portion by which the article may be visually observed; wherein the article has (i) operation means to effect operations of a desired function of the article; and (ii) control means by which the packing operation means is controlled and the packing allows of access to the control means to effect operation of said operation means to produce the desired function. As a result, the desired function of the article can be tested and seen by a potential purchaser even though the article is still sealed in its package.
Abstract:
A circulating fluid amusement device is provided having a transparent globe stirred using a stirring motor, and preferably a magnetically coupled stirring system, which also includes LED lighting, in order that the circulating fluid amusement device can also act as a nightlight. The globe is removable from the base, and can be replaced with other globes, to create different effects. Additionally, the circulating fluid amusement device of the present invention is preferably provided in a packaging system which allows the circulating fluid amusement device to be tested and/or its functionality demonstrated without having to remove it from its shipping packaging.
Abstract:

Abstract:
An oral care implement demonstration assembly includes a powered oral care implement, a package housing and a plurality of demonstration elements. The oral care implement demonstration assembly is configured to produce a visual demonstration effect when relative movement is provided between a first demonstration element and a second demonstration element. Among the visual effects that may be utilized is a Moiré effect. Additionally, an associated method for demonstrating features of an oral care implement though one or more visual effects is described herein.
Abstract:
A packaging system for the retail display of an electrical device is disclosed. The packaging includes a “try me” switch to allow a potential customer to activate the electrical device in the store. The product includes a photovoltaic array and rechargeable battery which is intended to be periodically charged by the photovoltaic array. When packaged by the manufacturer, the rechargeable batteries are sufficiently charged to substantially activate the electrical device. When depressed, the “try me” switch interconnects the primary rechargeable battery with the electrical device within the packaging.
Abstract:
