Thus, the plurality of conical projections of the conical-projections sheet are protected.

The gating region is defined by a relief pattern that has at least one of the following: at least 5 separate compartments defined by respective recesses in the first side, each of the recesses bounded by walls that separate the compartments from each other, the recess, or the channel; at least 5 walls defined by the patterning of the first side, the walls separating a plurality of compartments from each other, the recess, or the channel, wherein the walls have a mean thickness that is less than a mean height, and each pair of walls has a mean separation greater than twice the mean thickness; an array of separate compartments bounded by walls defined by the patterning of the first side that collectively define a polygonal regular planar tiling with at least 50% of the surface area of the gating region being open spaces; and a focusing region in fluid communication with the cavity, and a seal region having at least one wall defined by patterning of the film, wherein the at least one wall separates the focusing region from the seal region, and a shape of the at least one wall tapers the focusing region towards the seal region.

A paper web is formed of fibrous substrate comprising cellulosic fibers and optionally synthetic fibers, with opposite first and second sides. On-line with the forming of the paper web, reinforcing material is applied on the first side and pressed into structure of the paper web such that delamination resistance of the structure is increased. Sealing material is applied on the second side of the paper web on-line with the forming of the paper web.

By affixing the information cards in a repetitive pattern along the tape (20) the assembled tape can be folded and individual blisters are no longer lost. An edge (6) for severing the tape allows the removal of a single information card-blister assembly from the assembled tape. Separating the information cards on the tape allows room for folding the tape. Ensuring that the holes cut in the tape do not overlap allows the distance between the information cards along the tape to be reduced and result in an efficient stacking of the blisters when the tape is folded.

The receptacle is a sheet having an inner face conforming to a shaped portion of a surface of the food item, and may have an outer face following the shape of the inner face. The food item is retained within the enclosure with the shaped portion of the surface of the food item and the inner face of the receptacle mutually in proximity. The food item is securely retained with the outer face of the receptacle providing, to a viewer of the package, a clear display of the shape of the food item, permitting any display, graphics or text, on the surface of the item to be visible on the outer face of the package, without the need to apply pressure or heat to conform the package to the shaped portion of the packaged food item.
