Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing method on the basis of an intra prediction mode and an apparatus therefor. Specifically, a method for processing an image on the basis of an intra prediction mode may comprise the steps of: inducing a prediction mode applied to an intra prediction of a current block; determining whether a bi-directional intra prediction using reference samples located at both boundaries of the current block with respect to a prediction direction of the prediction mode is applied to the current block; and generating a prediction sample by using a reference sample neighboring the current block on the basis of the prediction mode, wherein when the bi-directional intra prediction is applied, boundary filtering for the current block is skipped.

Abstract: An intra-prediction method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining information on an intra-prediction mode from a bitstream; determining an intra-prediction mode for a current block on the basis of the information on the intra-prediction mode; determining whether to apply coefficient induced intra-prediction (CIIP) to the current block; deriving neighboring samples of the current block on the basis of the determination of whether to apply the CIIP; and generating predicted samples of the current block on the basis of the intra-prediction mode and the neighboring samples. According to the present invention, corrected or improved neighboring samples can be generated, whereby intra-prediction performance can be improved.

Deriving the prediction samples includes applying bi-directional optical flow (BDOF) to the current block based on whether the condition for applying BDOF to the current block is satisfied, and the application condition of the BDOF includes a condition whereby the values of L0 luma weighted prediction flag information and L1 luma weighted prediction flag information are both zero, where the a value of each of the L0 luma weighted prediction flag information and L1 luma weighted prediction flag information being 0 represents that a weight factor for each of a L0 and L1 prediction luma components does not exist, respectively.
