    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for multiplexing of PUCCH for beam failure recovery and other signals. A UE may determine a transmission dropping rule and a transmission power scaling rule for a PUCCH which is dedicatedly configured for secondary BFR transmission, such as a PUCCH-BFR, when it is multiplexed with BFR multiplexed with at least one other signal at least one other signal. The PUCCH-BFR and the at least one other signal may be multiplexed in a CC or in multiple CCs. The UE may determine a transmission dropping rule, e.g., so that UE can transmit an uplink signals with higher priority and drop the other uplink signal with lower priority to avoid beam collisions. The UE may determine a transmission power scaling rule, e.g., so the UE may scale transmission power within a CC and/or across CCs. The UE may multiplex the PUCCH-BFR with the at least one other signal according to the rules.

    Abstract: An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) to provide contention-based beam failure operation in a second cell (SCell), where the UE includes processor circuitry and radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry is configured to encode a first message including a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ), wherein the BFRQ is indicative of a beam failure, and to decode a second message from a gNB, wherein the second message includes a beam failure recovery (BFR) response responsive to the BFRQ. The processor circuitry is further configured to encode a third message including a UE identification (ID) in response to decoding the second message, and to decode a fourth message from the gNB, wherein the fourth message includes collision handling for beam failure recovery by the UE. The radio front end circuitry is coupled to the processor circuitry, and the radio front end circuitry is configured to transmit the first message and the third message to the gNB, and to receive the second message and the fourth message from the gNB.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of early termination of uplink data transmissions for a UE are described. The UE transmits capacity information that indicates that the UE supports use of an ETS. The ETS indicates successful reception by the eNB of the uplink data prior to an end of a scheduled transmission period to transmit repeated instances of the data. The UE receives a schedule for repeated transmissions of the data that is based on a coverage level of the UE, and then transmits sets of one or more repetitions. After the transmission, the UE monitors a predetermined resource whether the ETS is present or whether the ETS indicates an ACK. If the ETS indicates successful reception, the UE terminates transmission of the remaining repetitions of the data and enters a sleep mode or transmits other uplink data.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) configuration information received from a Next Generation Node-B (gNB). The configuration information includes a cell-specific base sequence hopping pattern. A PUCCH base sequence is selected from a plurality of available PUCCH base sequences based on the cell-specific base sequence hopping pattern and UCI information. A cyclic shift is applied to the PUCCH base sequence to generate a cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence. The cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence is encoded for transmission to the gNB using a PUCCH physical resource. The cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence carries the UCI and is code division multiplexed (CDM) with at least another cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence within the PUCCH physical resource.
