Abstract: A method for starting an application smartly and power-efficiently is applicable to a portable electronic device installed with an application and hardware. The portable electronic device receives a voltage generated from a power supply, such as an internal battery power or an external power. After the portable electronic device has started, a connection between the application and the hardware is created. Upon detection that the voltage originates from the external power, the application is executed based on a preset schedule to start the hardware corresponding to the application until it is detected that the source of the voltage has been switched to the internal battery power. Upon the detection that the source of the voltage has been switched to the internal battery power, a user determines whether to change the state of use of the hardware, thereby rendering the portable electronic device smart and power-efficient.

Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a body, a casing, and a resilient element. The casing accommodates the body such that the body can slide within the casing. The casing has an opening through which an electrical connection unit connected to the body protracts out of, or retracts into, the casing. The resilient element has an end connected to the casing and another end abutting against the body. The resilient element exerts a resilient restoring force upon the body in response to the sliding of the body. The casing has a stop structure configured to operate in conjunction with an engagement structure of the body and thereby limit the range of the sliding of the body. The engagement structure can be disengaged from the stop structure to separate the body from the casing. Accordingly, the portable electronic device has multiple uses, namely quick maintenance, easy assembly, body protection, and automatic accommodation.

Abstract: A device for testing a function of a telephone exchange during a production process includes a sending-end module for sending a test criterion, a receiving-end module for receiving a test criterion, an input/output interface module connected to a telephone exchange, a call connection indicating unit, a signal switching unit, and a controlling unit for controlling a test procedure. The device not only tests whether a call can be connected and whether a call can be answered, but analyzes local electrical characteristics of the telephone exchange at the telephone exchange-end. With the device, signals treated by an analog-to-digital conversion process can display various voice information of a voice signal conveyed by the telephone exchange, such that a damaged portion of the telephone exchange can be assessed whenever a test fails, thereby cutting test costs and production costs.
