Abstract:
An optical line terminal (OLT), a remote node (RN) unit, and an optical transmission method and a system thereof are provided. The method includes following steps. Power splitting is performed respectively on a part or all of M optical signals which have different wavelengths and are generated by M light sources, thus forming a first group of optical signals including first split optical signals and a second group of optical signals including second split optical signals. Both the first group of optical signals and the second group of optical signals have N different wavelengths. Cross routing is performed on the first group of optical signals and the second group of optical signals to form N carrier groups of signals that need to be provided to N optical network units (ONUs). Therefore, problems in the prior art such as a great number of light sources, high costs, and low reception quality, low power efficiency or high costs of the light sources are solved, so that the number of light sources in the network is reduced, transmission quality of signals is improved, and system costs are reduced.
Abstract:
A system and method receives a set of data points and identifies one or more Bezier curves corresponding to the set of data points. The system and method uses different techniques for identifying the Bezier curve depending on whether a Bezier point is a sharp point, in which the slope of the lines on either side of the point differ by a threshold amount or another type of point.
Abstract:
A method for data transfer in an optical network, including: amplitude modulating, by a central office, an optical carrier by a downstream data with a first rate to generate a downstream optical signal carrying the downstream data; sending the downstream optical signal to a user terminal; obtaining, by the user terminal, the downstream data from the downstream optical signal; amplitude modulating, by the user terminal, the downstream optical signal by an upstream data with a second rate to generate an upstream optical signal, wherein the ratio of the first rate to the second rate is greater than 1; sending the upstream optical signal to the central office; and receiving, by the central office, the upstream optical signal, and obtaining, by the central office, the upstream data from the upstream optical signal. Furthermore, the present invention discloses a system and device for data transfer in the optical network. With the invention, the complexity of the system may be effectively reduced, and the cost of the device may be lowered.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing layered master pages in page layout or illustration software comprises basing a layered page of a document on a layered master page to provide a child page. The objects disposed on the layered master page are interleaved with the objects disposed on the document page and output as a child page. The resultant child page image has objects on layers of the layered master page interleaved with and/or among objects on layers of the document page.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for detecting an upstream timeslot conflict in a Passive Optical Network (PON). An Optical Line Terminal (OLT) detects a timeslot conflict in an upstream timeslot. An OLT is provided also, including an optical receiver, an optical transmitter, a control unit and a detection unit. The detection unit receives an optical signal from the optical receiver, samples instantaneous optical power of the optical signal in an upstream timeslot, compares the instantaneous optical power with normal upstream optical power of the upstream timeslot, and detects that a timeslot conflict occurs in the upstream timeslot when the instantaneous optical power exceeds normal upstream optical power of the upstream timeslot. Embodiments of the present invention make the costs lower to detect an upstream timeslot conflict in the PON.

A system and method for providing layered master pages in page layout or illustration software comprises basing a layered page of a document on two or more layered master pages to provide a child page. The objects disposed on the layered master pages are interleaved with the objects disposed on the document page and output as a child page. The resultant child page image has objects on layers of the layered master pages interleaved with and/or among objects on layers of the document page.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed that facilitate launching separate editing applications from within an electronic content creation application. A content creation application can provide one or more launch editing features for launching separate editing applications to edit the objects or object parts within content that is being created. Such launch editing can involve the content creation application analyzing one or more selected objects and/or object parts and identifying which portions should be sent to a separate editing application. The separate editing application modifies the portions and returns modified portions to the content creation application where the modified portions are incorporated or merged into the electronic content being created.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a photomultiplier tube interface device (PMT), comprising a PMT module and a circuit substrate. The PMT module comprises a plurality of pins formed at a front end. A plurality of contacts are disposed on a lateral side of the circuit substrate to be electrically connected to the plurality of pins while a connecting base is arranged at a peripheral portion on another lateral side of the circuit substrate to be electrically connected to the contacts. By means of the interface device, not only the connecting pins of the PMT can be protected from being damaged and generating high frequency noise but also the convenience for assembling or replacing the PMT can be improved.
