    摘要: A tool-supporting device for directing or maneuvering mineralworking or like equipment in relation to a mineral face or terrain to be mined or worked with the aid of such equipment, comprises two units, at least one of which is adapted to have a tool mounted on it. Each unit has jack means whereby it can be releasably secured between a floor and roof of a mineworking. Extensible means is provided between the units, said extensible means being operative, using each unit as an abutment or anchorage, to move the other unit relatively thereto. The device also includes steering means between the units for directing such relative movement. In a preferred embodiment of the invention each unit of the tool-supporting device has upwardly and downwardly directed jack means, the arrangement being such that the jack means of one unit can be retracted to leave said unit supported cantilever fashion from the other unit for movement by the extensible means under the control of the steering means.

    摘要: A transport means comprises a carriage and an elongated member, for example, a flexible cable, anchored at and extending between the ends of a path to be travelled by said carriage. Means is provided for oscillating said elongated member in the direction of its length and the carriage is connected to the elongated member by a unidirectional driving device whereby the vehicle is caused to travel in one direction along the length of the elongated member when the latter is oscillated. Two oppositely acting unidirectional driving devices may be provided for connecting the carriage to the elongated member, one or other of these unidirectional driving devices being selected according to the direction along the elongated member in which it is desired that the carriage should travel.

    摘要: The invention is a pressure-fluid system, comprising at least two pressure-fluid-operated devices, in which means is provided whereby when said devices are exhausting simultaneously the exhaust from one is prevented from affecting the desired operation of the other. One particular application of the invention is to self-advancing or walking mine roof supports in which the two pressure-fluid-operated devices are respectively the leg or prop means and the advancing ram of the support. The invention is particularly applicable where both pressure-fluidoperated devices are controlled from a single selection or control valve.
