    摘要： An apparatus for pre-loading a mechanical constant-resistance single prop includes a rhombic stretchable bracket, a screw rod, a first cylindrical sleeve ring, and a second cylindrical sleeve ring. The screw rod is connected to two opposite apex corners of the rhombic stretchable bracket. A tail end of the screw rod is fixedly connected to one apex corner of the rhombic stretchable bracket. An end head of the screw rod passes through another apex corner of the rhombic stretchable bracket. The remaining two opposite apex corners of the rhombic stretchable bracket are respectively fixedly connected to edges of the first cylindrical sleeve ring and the second cylindrical sleeve ring through connecting rods. The screw rod is threadedly connected to the apex corner of the rhombic stretchable bracket through which the screw rod passes. A method for pre-loading a mechanical constant-resistance single prop is also provided.

    摘要： A pit prop has two opposed ends and comprises two bearing plates located at the ends, two telescopically displaceable prop elements, a number of separate resiliently compressible rubber discs arranged adjacent each other and a tubular indicating element. The prop includes a further bearing plate with the discs being located between two bearing plates to permit yielding of the pit prop under a load. The indicating element has markings thereon to indicate the load condition of the prop. The prop includes a locking device for releasably locking the prop elements with respect to each other.

    摘要： A ball-and-socket type connection particularly intended for interconnecting a prop and a roof bar or floor rail of a mine roof support assembly. The connection has a socket formed on the bar or rail and a ball part formed on the prop. The socket part has a curvilinear inner wall portion which receives the ball part and a rectilinear frusto-conical outer wall portion which widens outwardly of the socket part to form a mouth. The ball part has a bore or recesses which receives a securing means which may be a onepiece or multi-part elongate structure. The securing means extends into the socket part to engage with the bore or recesses in the socket part and lies alongside the outer wall portion of the socket part. The securing means is detachably connected to the bar or rail in a position readily accessible from the side adjoining the mouth of the socket part when the connection is in use.
